You can also try lowering the timing some around the pre spool area to try and get on the charger's a little faster and see if it's worth it. It's not always beneficial and I know there is a lot of old school injector splitting purists who think low/negative timing doesn't work. But I've had great success with it! I'm also not saying i'm right either, just saying try it out and see for yourself! Also keeping dynamic PW in the spool area very similar on all power levels and then tapering out to a static pw based on your power level can really help get back onto the turbos faster in the event you happen to fall out of boost from pedaling it or what have you.

Their are Teflon and silicone based coatings you can add to that head gasket that have anti friction properties to help with the enormous shearing forces to give you extra compliance, the deck needs a micro finish of about 60-100 RA for cast iron 50-60 for aluminum not too rough not too smooth some multi layer gaskets need a ultra smooth RA of about 30. A bad injector could over heat the cylinder and wipe out your gasket, too much fuel or plugged coolant passages, injector cups leaking or a simple radiator cap. You need a dyno that measures your EGT'S that way you can have an indirect indicator of the pressures inside so you can see exactly when the head lift occurs.

Can’t get a good response on rail pressure, on a free rev no engine load will rail pressure be lower than when the engine is under load? I rev mine up to 2000-2300 and only get 5500-6000 rail and 4300-4500 at idle. Can’t drive the truck at the moment but want to figure out if I have an issue so I can get the parts to fix it. New cross over tubes swapped rail plug and CP3 still the same.
@Altekameraden793 жыл бұрын
It is fascinating that the common rail platform ECM and injection pump have to hold a stringent tolerance on injector pulse to +/- 0.0005 sec. In contrast +/- 0.005 inch is industry standard for metal machining. Going down to +/- 0.001 inch gets really expensive, especially with heat treat and stress relief cycles.
@flubyux23 жыл бұрын
300% and no idle haze, wow! What kind of timing do you idle and cruise with? Has to be advanced a bit to burn that clean, right? I love where this truck has gone and thanks for showing us the nitty gritty.
