I did a deckplate with a billet front and rear cover that is made special so you can run 2 additional bolts thru the deckplate into those covers that gives some more meat to tie the head to the mains. I like to think it made it stronger but don't really don't know as it still cracked after 2 seasons pulling. It currently is running a Chaos fab solid 6.7 now which incorporates the extra tie bolt as well.

BHJ sells those dowels with bigger od and id, I don't know however if you have to buy the entire kit, it's the kit with the plate and accessories to drill and tap for 14 mm studs.

Are the cylinder head bolts concentric with the main bearing bolts. ? Run long tierods to hold the block together better.

Chassis dyno's are cool but they're also the reason why diesels haven't been able to transfer all their power to the rollers so they can hit that elusive 3,000whp mark. It's exactly why high power race cars stick to hub dyno's like what's found on the FuelTech channel.

nothing gets final assembled bare handed, but for set up before final cleaning, and also installing pistons i do that bare handed, and if you watch close i spray my hands frequently with brake clean.
