Was there last year. Recommend you head down to Sanande. From there if you are interested you can catch a ferry down to beautiful Corfu island in Greece. Also spend all your Lek before you leave the country as once you leave no surrounding counties will exchange them for you,

Hi Matt and Julia. Thank you for showing us these lovely towns in Albania. We took a ferry from Italy to Albania, several years ago. We spent a few months in Tirana, but never had a chance to visit any other cities. We can't wait to see more from Albania. I'm glad you'll be returning to Ohrid, to see more of the sites. Have fun!

Once again I love it. I do travel also , and heritage sites is my # 1focal / reference point, followed by villages / countryside / provinces / towns ( up to 25 villages / trip) , last are fancy touristy . I prefer homestay over hotels just to immerse with locals , its culture & local delicasies on its original ways. Its true , village people are more kind & polite . Sadly, covid restricted us & my profession are most needed at time of pandemic. Your vlogs refresh me after a tiring duty full of stress & emotions , as if I travel with you.

Hi Guys! Great video, thanks. I'm watching with interest, and I'd like to suggest, once you have exhausted the region, a frank comparison video of the countries you've visited in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Pros, cons, and finally which would be your pic to migrate to, if only for a few years, but possibly permanently. I'm sure there are others like myself, who are exploring our options through channels like yours, so your uncluttered style is easy to watch. As you know, I've been to Georgia, and I have a South African friend who moved from Georgia to Albania. He's loving it. I might have to come have a look for myself...

Gjirokaster name is from the Greek name, Αργυρόκαστρο - Argyrokastro, as part of the Byzantine Empire. From 1914 to 1916 in this area was created the Autonomous Republic of Northern Epirus and in 1916 the area was united with Greece.
