Sorry to be a negative nelly, but everyone is getting involved for views and subscriptions. Ed is 85. He will love it I’m sure. But I like how they don’t ever talk about his story or his circumstances. He could be a millionaire for all we know. This is just to get views and subscriptions and entertainment. I don’t chalk this up as a good cause.

@@aubreylionswings8889 apparently you don't pay much attention to this, or Matt's off road recovery, & Fabrats. Matt has explained how he met Ed, & about his gold mine claim in California. It's none of your business or ours how much money Ed does or doesn't have!! Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the last i checked youtube was started for entertainment & the individual channels was for entertainment purposes! The "golden nugget" recovery & build was never intended as a charity event. Ed asked Matt if it was possible to recover, Paul from Fabrats volunteered his services to rebuild it, as did Robby. Sure its helping with subscribers to each channel, but look at the number of hours of work & resources each one is putting into the build. Is it a crime for their subscribers & views to increase? The purpose all along was entertainment, I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with that.

Obviously with Robby, he has his auto body shop besides youtube, Matt has his towing & recovery business besides youtube, but with Fabrats, they have just youtube. It's entertainment, but it's also their source of income. They aren't charging Ed for the work, sometimes they foot the bill for the materials they use, it's only right they should get paid a little for the videos. Besides i doubt there was enough "new subscribers" to the various channels over the golden nugget project, to really make that much of a difference.

You guys always keep me intrigued. I laugh. I learn. Always looking forward to the next one. I have been operating a Power Wheels business for over two years. Where I buy sell and fix children's battery operated rides. My grandfather restored antique cars and planes. He flew in 19 missions over Japan. In WW2. The plane that he was flying crashed landed on the aircraft carrier.( USS Langley). They then dumped it into the ocean. Before that. He saved some of the gauges. Fast forward into his '70s. He bought and restored the same model plane. Putting the gauges from the one that they put in the ocean on it. Once it was finished. Which also took building a hanger on our farm. Custom fabricating a lot of the metal. Tens of thousands of rivets. I'll never forget the day I saw the refurbished engine come in. Which cost more than a house. My grandfather had a group volunteers come twice a week. Most of them from Martins Air Force Base. Most of them retired veterans. It took them 6 years to restore the plane. Once it was in running condition. My grandfather then donated it to a museum and Reading Pennsylvania. Where they fly every year at the air shows. 1940s Grumman avenger torpedo bomber. RIP Grampa. (Jack Kosko) I never get tired of telling your story. So I've always been familiar with the field. You guys just make it exciting. You make me want to learn and laugh right along with you. I know a lot of hard work and sweat go into what you do. I just want to say. Thank you. Ed's story reminds me of my grandfather and his plane.

Ed and my oldman would hit it off I think. My dad is 93. He is somewhere in Europe now on tour . I think Germany right now. A few months ago before his European tour he went on a roadtrip of about 3000 miles driving himself all the way. He plays tennis twice a week. Amazing man.

If the Suzuki has a receiver type hitch, it would have been easier to just make a drop hitch that fits in it than modifying the tongue of the trailer... Those two cuts and welds are also going to weaken the tongue of the trailer... I would consider adding some reinforcing plates / gussets to each joint...

I would be doing some fishplates over the welds used to create the raised hitch. Not that I am questioing the welds, just a good idea cause you dont want to turn a towing event into a derby event.

GMC Yukon Denali's only came with a 5.3 or LQ4 6.0. The Escalade's and VHO's get the LQ9. Check the 8th Digit, if its... "U" = LQ4 if its "N" = LQ9. Hope this helps.

I understand that it's too late now, but I would put some diamond plate or at least expanded mesh across the open spots on that trailer. Trying to imagine ED getting the Rokon onto there. No problem connecting it to the Nugget (excellent choice with the neck on that thing). Vroom - drives it on no problem - great deck height. Now he's got to get off the bike and back to the ground. There's nowhere to step at all except the ground, which is 1' down from the bike.

LQ9 engines are 345hp stock at the crank. Mild Cam, springs and injectors with electric fan gets you in the 430hp+ range for $700ish or less. Might be the thing for the beast tow truck or Morrvair. Great reliable power choice.

Lq9 06 would already be gm dual electric fan. 05 06 they got the electric fan. I have an 03 escalade still mechanical fan. But I loves me the sound of mechanical fan.
