The probability of this becoming official is pretty less cause this is a smart device and more so it is Bluetooth connected. So it is almost impossible that this becomes the official timer when you have an awesome 😎 official timer already. I could be wrong, though.

The YJ Standrad timer is out of production since SpeedStacks (the company who makes G4 Timers) copyright claimed YJ and said that YJ copied their design so the standard one wont be available anymore. Tho I have no idea about the QiYi :)

Hopefully this timer doesn't run into any copyright and patent issues with SpeedStacks. This would create a market for timers where companies can compete and make better timers at a lower price. Right now, SpeedStacks doesn't have any competition so they don't add any useful features or make their timers cheaper.

There is actually no reason for buying a gan timer instead of speedstacks because it is expensive + it is not allowed in WCA. One thing which is in favour of GAN IS THAT IT IS GAN.

So, I bought this timer couple of months ago. After using it for only about two weeks it developed an error where it reset itself when I slapped it too hard (also the times in the memory were gone). Frustrating as F*ck. Anyway, I thought maybe I was being too rough with the timer (even though I feel a timer that is meant for this sport should be able to withstand a little harder slapping...) so I bought another one. This time I was actually much more gentle when stopping cause I was afraid of breaking it a second time aaand... It happened again! You guys I cannot tell you how frustrating this is. The exact same thing. If I slap the sensors just a tiny bit too strong it resets all my times. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. Has anyone else experienced this? I can't be the only one with this problem since it happened with two timers and I am not that rough with it.
