I can't lie, that PSVR2 deal was so good that mine is already on its way, together with a cheap PS5. I wanna play the exclusives, and then my oldest is gonna inherit the PS5, and I can use the PSVR2 for PCVR. Or sell it. But I have been ogling some of those games for a while now and really want to try them.

I'm so happy that they are taking another shot at Hitman 3 VR because I am still so excited to be able to play that the tiny little bit that I did play on PC was so great of the regular game in VR even though it was a little wonky I still had the best time so a full-out VR game of this would be amazing .... one that actually works

A $350 Sony VR set is an incredible price…But beware folk you CANT get a replacement controller from Sony and if you break a contoller getting a new one is a BIG pain in the ass. It’s crazy that after all this time we still cant buy one from Sony or any retailer. So if you get one, be careful with your controllers.

I got my PSVR 2 from Best Buy in the last sale, and I specifically bought extended coverage for that exact reason. And yeah, it is WILD that you can't buy replacement controllers, even directly from Sony.

I bought from best buy during sale and my left one out the box is defective. It won't be picked up in videogames and requires a workaround I figured out where you disconnect the controller and use a wire. I will def be returning this headset once I best re4 remake

@@ArmedBatman I think I had the same issue when I got my headset, but I just reset the controller (there's a small pinhole button on it), and its been working fine ever since. This was a couple months ago. Give it a shot and hopefully it corrects the issue for you. Also make sure to update the controller's firmware if you're given the option.

My vision is -6.5 with astigmatism so requiring 'n prism. Lens inserts are an absolute must have, and so much more comfortable than trying to wear glasses in a headset. They are really worth the price IMO

You, JayBratt, Beardo, GamerTag, Michael Knowles are in that tier. It would be really hard for me to say who is the best because each is different and I enjoy all of them. So, if you don't win, don't get discouraged because it will have to be a "photo finish" because you are all doing an outstanding job.

Regarding the new form of reprojection on PSVR 2, I heard from a developer that it isn't a Pro exclusive feature and it isn't only for GT7. Any developer could use it for their PSVR 2 games, but it is a bit more resource intensive than the old style of reprojection, so games that are barely able to hit a stable 60 fps might not be able to run it. Oh and congrats on the nomination! 🍻

Already got a quest 3, but I'm mainly a PC gamer. In fact the only real Quest 3 game I got came with the thing, Asgard's Wrath 2 lol, so maybe I will look deeper into PSVR2... I don't actually plan on getting a PS5 though, so now I gotta gauge whether or not it's worth it in my predicament.

As much as I love my PSVR 2, you'd probably be better off just hooking your Quest 3 up to your PC (wired or wireless). It has a slightly better resolution and better lenses (so I've heard). Most of the PSVR 2's features aren't used by PC games (the adaptive triggers, advanced haptics, headset haptics, and eye tracking), although there have been some developers who seem to have figured out how to get some of them working. And on top of the headset you have to buy the PC adapter, an extra display port cable, and a Bluetooth adapter. So really if you're only interested in PC VR the only advantages for PSVR 2 would be the OLED screens (brighter, true blacks, more vivid colours, at the cost of somewhat higher image persistence) and maybe comfort.

@@GreyMatterShades Yeah I've been doing a little research since that post and everything here mirrors what I learned. I would love true blacks - one of my pet peeves with the Quest is that "dark gray" it has going on, but that isn't worth the overall investment. Maybe if I had waited I'd sing a different tune but I'll just stick with the Quest 3 for now. If Deckard ends up being legit I'll jump on that whenever it comes out instead. Thanks for the answer.

Even if most developers wouldn't patch their games to support it, it could be modded in. It's really a shame that they're not. Hopefully Deckard is great.

I can't speak for Matteo obviously, but from what I've seen, most people like using the PSVR 2 for PC because of the OLED screen. It gives you true higher brightness, true blacks, and more vivid colours. The downside is it has higher image persistence, which can give a little bit of a ghosting effect under certain conditions.

@@ZFCaionope, not buying the quest, i am perfectly fine with psvr2, I bought a new pc recently, and had psvr2 for ps5 since launch, to play gt7 in vr, so i see more value keep play psvr2 on pc to, without have to spend seriously money for another headset. Psvr2 will more than do the job for me, i have enjoyed it so far, the wire dosent bother me at all either. If i had the pc i got know last year maybe i would not buy psvr2 but who knows, But one headset is enough for the time being.

So I do have a question considering the PS VR to I just recently played GTA V on my PS5 with my quest 3 using a cable and it was 1080p I'm wondering if using the psvr 2 on the PS5 pro playing a flat screen game will have a better resolution, is it worth it for just that reason

No, the resolution limit for flat content in VR on PSVR 2 is caused by the horizontal resolution of the PSVR 2's screens. Each screen in a PSVR 2 has a horizontal resoluiton of 2000 pixels, which is just slightly larger than the horizontal resolution of a 1080p image (1920 pixels). If it ran flat content at a higher resolution, one of two things would happen. Either it would have to downsample the game to 1080p anyway, or you wouldn't be able to see the full image with either eye.

I just spent full price for PSVR2 a few weeks ago and a PS5 pro and a HOTAS for it coz there is only one that works and a charging station and pedals and headphones. So now I am in Way over $1500 and I just bought No Man's Sky because I am all about flight sims. Now I find out it does not even support HOTAS and there are only 3 games that do. I guess I should have done more homework but it never occurred to me that a $60 flight sim would not support HOTAS. I deleted it in disgust without even attempting to play it. WHAT A JOKE! Do you want to know why PSVR2 is going down in flames? This is why. Oh and Elite Dangerous won't work in VR and Star Wars wont work either. Really?

Sony has always sold their hardware at a loss *initially*, as has Microsoft and maybe even Nintendo before the Wii. Thanks to mass production, the PS5 disk version hardware became profitable around 9 months after launch, with the digital version following a few months later. The slim model was probably profitable from day one. No idea about the Pro. I doubt Sony is selling PSVR 2 at a loss at regular price, but they should be. It's how you grow an install base and make money on game sales. Meta definitely sells their hardware at a loss, and probably a deeper one that Sony could afford, as they have alternate means of generating revenue off their users that Sony doesn't have.
