Vanilla Era, TBC Era and Wrath Era all sound good, but I am looking for Classic Plus (or Classic 2), where they just make Vanilla "complete" as it was meant to be, give us some shiny improved and new armor sets, weapon graphics and mounts, fix lag for massive world pvp, and make some tiny adjustments to underperforming classes.

Blizzard is clueless. Players are clueless. Real Classic+ will be lost in the clutter, and both Blizzard and players will be clueless to why vanilla blew up on pservers originally. They want an old school style mmorpg again, and we'll end up getting the same self-destruction expansion model that created the reason why vanilla was recreated to begin with. Blizzard chases money, and serves no fans. Their model can't support niche audiences. Vanilla players only want forever vanilla. TBC, and Wrath players are a separate audience. Cata shouldn't even be talked about. Blizzard ripped off Warhammer originally, and they should adopt their current model with dedicated games to different Warcraft time periods with each game it's unique gameplay style. Vanilla can't have flight, it can't have massive gear leaps, or relocating the player base to different cites across the world or universe. There can't be expansions that destroy the previous game. Expand on the game without changing it's core design principles, THAT is Classic+, not repeating the mistakes of the past and throwing the baby out with the bathwater (baby = original Wow world and feel).

the thing is tho classic starts at the end of warcraft 3.. so in that potential world theres still Arthas up in Northrend and what not so it kind of has to naturally atleast go that far. They could try to implement those storylines in a alternate timeline type deal and keep a super classic type feel to the alternate game tho.

Mop should not be considered Classic at all. Talent system changes, visual overhauls, etc. When Cata is done I as many other people will probably come back if they make SoD versions of the versions we like like TBC, Wotlk etc. To all the people that like MoP all good for u but that is not Classic! Classic Vanilla+ is what people want not Season of Lich King or TBC SoD. Vanilla is 2004-2006 and TBC is not what Vanilla Andys want. TBC Classic was alright but TBC should have never happened when it did to begin with, they should have kept building on Vanilla instead of pushing so much stuff off into future expansions. Classic+ means more lvl 60 content, better balance without making any of the already, existent content obsolete. Tbc made all of lvl 60 endgame redudant. This is the oppsoitve of clsssic+. Adding tbc cavern of times as lvl 60 t3. 5 raid would be classic plus. Look up turtle wow if you want to know how it could look like.

I have been saying for quite some time. To make Classic + an absolute bomb, continuation from Wrath of the Lick King, an arc with Arthas' redemption. 1- Alternate Timeline or any other plot convenience they may choose. 2- At the final Battle at Icecrown Citadel, Tirion strucks the Helm of Domination instead of Frostmourne, freeing Arthas from Ner'zhul's grasp. 3- There is no Lich King, and the Scourge goes rampant as Terenas warned, wrecking havok on all over Azeroth. 4- Scourge is completely loose in the beginning, and as the plot progresses a relevant figure of the Scourge/Burning Legion would try to control the Scourge, birthing a new big bad guy. 5- Arthas would fight by our side, but not having the Light. Having forsakened it, he would seek atonement for his heinous acts. 6- He would recover the Light, flicker by flicker, as he progresses trough his atonement. 7- Arthas would try to claim his family's honor and legacy, restoring Lordaeron and becoming its King.

People are just chasing nostalgia of course, it has nothing to do with loving the world, the mechanics, the lore, the raids. You can replicate story writing, you can replicate world building. So, I love the idea of a Classic Progression server. But, this is what i think Blizzard should do... Every time the Classic Progression get's to Cata, open the next set of Classic Progression... but do not stop the progression of the other servers, keep going past Cata. There are a large group of Players, including young new players that want to experience the game as it progresses through Classic to Retail... Once the progression reaches Retail, it merges in... But open up server transfers for players that do not want to progress to the next step, but want to move into a server going into the phase that they want to stay in. But I do believe Progression servers are necessary. It's kept Everquest Classic live for so many years, and I love EQ... I grew into MMO's with EQ and love the classic feel... but the other benefit for new and returning players with progression servers is for those that want to dive into the story... and learn it through each expansion. I would hate to go to Cata or stop at Frozen throne, and have to go to Retail and deal with the Cromie system to go into the past... I would rather a smooth process through a progression purpose server to get new and returning players wanting to live through the progression of Wow from Day 1 to where Retail is now.

The re-releases of BC and WOTLK showed that people’s opinion of Cata being the step into modern wow isn’t exactly true. The ground work for retails style of gameplay and progression started in BC and really became its modern iteration in Wrath as much as people may not want to admit that. Right now retail is doing very well, while SOD hasn’t maintained a high population. The devs are going with where the money is and what they are good at doing. Doubtful to see anything other than a vanilla fresh as I think classic + will not be what people hope it will.

i know people want Fresh but if just starting over without fixing the issues that is the reason why people want Fresh in the first place the issues is just gonna come again and i think SOD proof those issues comes ALOT faster compare to 2019´s release like in week 1-2 there was already GDKP spam in LFG chat(lucky banned now and sure only was lvl25 but kinda still show my point), warlocks summons prices is inflated af p1=1g, p2=2g, p3=5g, and phase 4=10g & can easy see it become 20g and insane Big gold sinks is not the solution : people buy gold in order to get the 100% speed mount: why not having smaller amount gold sinks instead but more of them

I know SOD is a trial for Classic+, but its so far away from classic style that i cannot be bothered playing it anymore tbh. I have such a good "small" guild with rly fun and nice ppl, but that just not enough for me. Blizzard dont know what they are doing, they are getting closer to retail, than something like turtlewow, which have basically everything Classic+ needs and the only reason i dont play turtlewow is because i hate loosing all my chars and things i've achieved like happend with nostalrius and such.

i don`t know ... if we get all 3 expansions on era starting from scratch it won`t be a good thing because it will split the players on 3 different things and mop is just dog shit it shouldn`t even be an idea, one thing i would like to see is tbc sod. The model of p1 in sod was very good and blizzard should look more into that, p2 was ok too but when we got in p3 things started to get very messy and people started to quit sod and wow, the 10 man raids were very nice and they should`ve kept it that way.As for p4 it just became like retail nothing to see there, and then they made runes from p2 and p3 cost reals when they should be bought with gold, farming reals to get some runes to start a new char sounds stupid and it feels like a chore

No good will here. SoD was a fail for me and my friends... I'm on one of the old classic servers and the HC server. Bliz already has screwed and broken their promise about preserving the old classic servers as they were when they transitioned to TBC. And I never wanted a return to Cata (I played on the classic progression thru LK and had to abandon my characters as the build changes for Cata ruined my characters). Zero interest in the mess that is retail. They burned that bridge long ago for me in BFA.

For me Cataclysm still is classic. We still have the old talents, raid are still have 2 difficulty, normal and hard (until LFR), we don't have to farm absurd amount of borrowed power, we don't have all the same legendary (ring, cape, artifact weapon...), no mythic plus dungeon. Yes, i know, the world was remade, in part to accommodate old world flying, in part to drive the deathwing narrative, and yes, we got LFR toward the end. For me, retail truly start in MoP. Cataclysm is like a bridge expansion between classic and retail, bu still classic for the most part.

What killed Wrath was their "Bring the player, not the class" mentality, basically dumbing down the gameplay. In my case, my main was a holy priest, and I did a lot of raid healing in TBC. In Vanilla and TBC, knowing how to downrank spells was an essential skill for holy priests. In fact, the priest epic staff (Benediction/Anathema) quest chain tested your ability to do just that. Downranking was removed in Wrath. I did the quest chain on my BElf priest at level 70 in late TBC, and *attempted* it on my Human priest at level 80, but kept running out of mana, despite having MUCH better gear.
