Google has a recycling program for their nest thermostats which is important because throwing eWaste like an electronic thermostat in regular trash may not be legal especially if the thermostat is rechargeable since it would have a battery that could explode in the garbage truck. I typically leave broken electronics in plain view that way those responsible for recycling as part of the garbage service can dispose of broken electronics properly

I'm glad to see you still doing videos you helped me out years ago and I was having a phone issue when I was way younger.

From my research Google Nest Thermostats use 2 AA batteries for a backup ontop of a internal battery inside the device. So either one of those were dead or the board was fried. I have had a board fry on me with the thermostat I had in my appartment

Nest is made by Google nuff said. Google probably put a Tensor chip in the thermostat that's why it's so crappy.

She has to charge it because she has an older unit that doesn’t have a blue common wire. New systems have the wire.
