Umi isn't a mangaka and quite questionable if his occupation as an actor symbolizes the beret. Also why Umi was being drawn with a beret in chapter 218? I'm glad I'm not missing out on much for Rent-a-Girlfriend after Season 1. The story had potential, but the creator squandered every opportunity for growing the story. If Japanese Divorce Laws work the same way as America's, then it will be hilarious if Reiji Miyajima's wife leaves him and takes most of the money he makes from Rent-a-Girlfriend.

If he wasn't married then being down bad for a character to the point of pretending she's his irl girlfriend would be a little odd but not that deep as he's not hurting anyone... But he IS married... WITH KIDS might I add. It's that point where I start to genuinely question what bro is doing. Either way this is a dumpster fire of a manga built off an amalgamation of some of the worst characters ever written and Sumi is the only thing about this entire piece of fiction that doesn't infuriate me. Like she's cool and all but if I wanted to read about a shy girl who struggles with communication in an actual good setting I'd just read Komi-san.

The mangaka’s story sounds like a plot to a manga in it of itself. A story about an author who made a successful franchise, but fell in love with one of their own characters and they begin hallucinating that character and the story explores the negative effects of escapism; I mean I’d read it.

I think this whole situation is crazy and hilarious- BUT i have to point out the bathtub water situation and using the same toothpaste as your crush is a big thing in Japan. That’s actually not too crazy considering. It’s been shown in other animes as well. In Japanese households, they reuse the bath water for the entire family- since everyone is clean when they go in and it’s just to soak. So that part isn’t TOO crazy. Everything else is though.

@@AhmadMunif694 If they went in dirty, yes it would be really gross, but in Japan, most bathrooms have a shower outside the tub. So everyone showers and washes their hair and body, rinses off, and then just relaxes in the clean tub for a couple mins. Like a jacuzzi. Just imagine when you bathed with your child/parent or your siblings as a kid.
