that's a flashback in the beginning, taking place on Earth. On 7:25 that armband has J's serial number on it, but it's not really important. On 8:25 that's a core, basically a heart that every drone has. Destroy it and the drone dies, that's basically it. On 15:22 he's talking about the corpse, not the gun. I'd recommend turning on subtitles for this, they really help.

I've been told this episode is _juicy_ for theory-crafting and speculation, so let's put on our sleuthing hats and _deduce:_ - The initial scene definitely feels like backstory, showing the world that the Disassembly Drones knew _before_ becoming Disassembly Drones -- Uzi's monologue from the last episode implies that the Drones were mistreated by humans, and this supports that claim. (It may also be establishing the history of another, as-yet-unseen character -- the glitched-out shadow figures suggest that they're all people whose appearances were scrubbed by the memory formatting... but why would anyone _want_ to erase the memories of Drones, except to cover up the identity of someone they knew _before_ they were repurposed into Disassembly Drones?) - I'm 100% here for N sleeping like a bat. I _swear_ the guy gets more adorable the longer he's on-screen. (Him being a pilot more accident-prone than Launchpad McQuack is even _better!)_ - One of the benefits of having everyone's faces be LCD displays is the ability to really lean into exaggerated expressions and visualizations of common emotions. Maybe it's an Aspie thing, but I'd find it a _lot_ easier to deal with people if you could read their emotions as easily as reading icons on a screen. - The name 'Cyn' keeps popping up in contexts that suggest some kind of oversight or administrative role -- I'd initially thought they might be the one overseeing the Disassembly Drones, but the presence of the name on the labeled tape on J's wreckage makes it clear that the Worker Drones report to them as well. - As for the organic-looking _thing_ clambering around in what's left of J's chest cavity, I feel like it's connected to the Absolute Solver's objectives. I realize this is skewing toward the 'Is This A [Thing]?' meme, but when Uzi blew N's head off last episode, the reboot code lines showed that the Absolute Solver tried to auto-run code when his regeneration kicked in, only to be blocked by Cyn; J's body likely tried to activate the same regen function after getting blasted, but it looks like her regeneration was halted partway through, with a creature that seems to mix cybernetic and organic components scavenging what's left over -- Cyn likely couldn't intercede like they did before, possibly due to EM interference or the vault walls blocking the signal, which let the Solver's code run unimpeded. Whoever (or _whatever)_ the Absolute Solver is, it seems like Cyn has been trying to keep it contained -- though apart from the tonal similarities between the Solver and AM, I can't really tell which of the two is the more _dangerous_ one to see _succeed._ - Psych classes being coding classes makes total sense, but it's still hilarious. (Also, your pausing to read background details is _exactly_ what you should be doing with this show -- I can already confirm that you _did_ miss some details in the last episode, so this is going to be one of those shows where you keep finding new things on repeat watches for sure!) - I feel like accent colors that update to reflect emotions would be an awesome touch, personally. Prismatic white as the base color would be my preference, though. - ...You have... _unique_ criteria for cuteness, Matt. I think I approve. - I repeat my earlier statement regarding N being adorable. - I think the fictional monster you were looking for is 'Mimic', Matt. This Drone-devouring amalgamation is basically a predatory _Mimic colony_ that creates more instances of itself with each kill. (Same directive as the Disassembly Drones, thinking about it...) - Uzi having the same symbol as the Solver showing up on her display suggests that it's already got its proverbial claws in her -- if I had to guess, it might've infected her systems after N stuck her, since she managed to get him to neutralize the nanites shortly afterward. A Worker Drone surviving that initial jab doesn't seem like a common occurrence, and Khan suggested last episode that even getting jabbed is worthy of a mercy kill, since he admitted to using that wrench to put Uzi's mother "out of her misery when the Murder Drones got to her with their nanite acid." (Granted, I'm not inclined to believe it's _completely_ unprecedented that a Worker survived infection, and nor do I feel like Uzi's mom is just a throwaway reference without any future emotional payoff -- that all feels like a Chekhov's gun to me.) - ...I should buy a _lottery ticket_ with that precognition, I _swear_ that bit about the emotional Chekhov's gun was a _blind _*_guess._* - At this point, it's hard to say for sure how much of the Amalgamation was the _Solver_ and how much of it was _J_ -- it clearly retained elements of J's personality, like her habit of trash-talking those around her, but also seemed to have access to data that J wouldn't have any reason to know. On top of that, when it tried to access the classroom, it looked like a _second_ instance of the Solver blocked it by sabotaging the door -- it seemed like the girl who apparently activated it (Doll, I think? I've heard about the Russian-speaking character in passing, but I could be mistaken on the name -- 'Russian nesting doll' is how the name stuck) was in control of the effect, which might be pointing toward what's going to happen to Uzi, if the Solver's code doesn't overwhelm her like it seems to have done to J. (Of course, Uzi getting overwhelmed by the Solver and losing control _would_ make for good drama, so...)

If I was to be reborn as a drone from this series, I think I'd like my eye color to be the same color as my actual human eyes, which is blue. I think one of the drones from the first episode had a nice light blue, verging on green, which i thought looked really nice.

I want to clarify the details that you may have missed from episodes 1 and 2 (no spoilers). 1) As you might have understood, this is not J, this is the Absolute Solver program itself, which was even mentioned in the series itself. From this episode, it became clear that this program is activated in killer-dismantler drones in the event of critical damage and a lack of materials to repair them, and therefore the program begins to collect materials from the environment. And why this program is in such working drones as Uzi and Doll (Russian-speaking) you will find out in the following episodes. 2) You should remember that fourth unnamed drone from the beginning of episode 2, it will appear in the following episodes, and also remember that human girl named Tessa, she will also be in the following episodes. 3) By the way, we have already seen the "Absolute Solver" symbol in the pilot episode, for example, at the very beginning, when we are shown the title of the series and at the moment when the error sign appears, then for a split second you can see the Absolute Solver symbol and at the moment when N reboots, in the upper left part of the screen, the inscription "Absolute Solver" was also noticed at the moment when Ј shot at Uzi from a machine gun, there, when bullets flew at Uzi, for a split second this symbol appeared on her screen. if Uzi's and Doll's moms are anything to speculate on the face display color could be hereditary but that could just be them choosing to have very similar or the same colors as their lost parents, maybe. Regardless though if I had a choice of face light color I'd choose my favorite color, red. Crimson to be exact. Might be an aggressive color but I like red

So there's this really good fan-made episode called "Intermission" that exists... it smooths out the transition between episodes 4 and 5, which has been criticized for being a very jarring transition. I know a lot of people, including me, basically consider it canon except for a few tiny details. I've seen a few reactions to it, but I think it would be really interesting to see someone watch it when it actually takes place in the series as a part of their first time blind watchthrough! As a V enjoyer, I know you'll like it lol. Something to maybe consider?

Edit: I also thought I'd add, since this isn't really obvious in the show and took me forever to figure out, the "CYN" on J's corpse's armband is the start of her product number, meaning all drones from that product line should have a product number starting with "CYN". All human-made drones seem to have a product number and a serial number. (Idk if that's common knowledge, but I didn't know before that, so I thought I'd share.)

If you wanna get more details you may miss, watch with subs. With how much of a spectacle the show is you’ll definitely miss certain dialogue. I like how you pause when you think/spot/hear something interesting in the scene. I wish more reactors examine scenes and try to piece things together.
