The last one about the house has or had other potential outcomes. First the husband could have provided for what is known as a “life estate” giving the widowed second wife the right to live there as long as she wants, but she will not inherit the property. She would have to pay the taxes, utilities, etc. and make sure she proves she is taking care of the house and associated expenses. Also, I hope the life insurance has a contingency beneficiary; meaning, HIS daughter, in case she predeceases him.

im gonna be honest here ....the laws of the land that protect women have a lot to do with this... for a woman to have to guts to say to a man who works hard for his money that he is broke for not paying their bills especially say it to his face.. they must really be confident that they are well protected and free to do so... maybe because the majority of people are a bunch of politically correct wannabes who want to win women'approval by saying you should never hit a woman... i mean they basically gave a halo to each lady in there... that's a ridiculous statement to make quite frankly.... where i come from if a situation like this occurs those 2 women would get smacked in their mouths and they d be lucky if the judge doesn't do the same

@@devilsadvocacy nope. Not only did I kick her off my insurance, but I kept $26,000 she gave me as a gift to pay off my student loans "as an investment in our relationship". It was hilarious when she tried to get the money back. The mediator was like pfft. It doesn't work that way. All of our mutual friends took my side. Her own family took my side. Her parents were like I can't believe she did this to you. You were the best thing that ever came into her life. She ended up alone and miserable. Good for her. I'm now 100% debt free and making $33k a year more than I was making when we were together. Legally speaking, the divorce was super easy. No kids. No shared property. No shared car. Separate bank accounts. I didn't even need a lawyer. I paid a "mediator" and it cost $60. I made her pay half.

Even older happily married couples suffer from this slight. For instance, I was told my a female friend of my wife, that fixing things around the house is a "man's job". So when I turned around and said that cleaning the house is a "house wife's job" they suddenly both became very offended. Interesting how that works.

That's funny. I had a lady that I met with her friends and I thought she was kidding at first. They were already eating and drinking before I showed up and this lady told them I'd pick up the check and they had some expensive dishes and drinks. All said, I was still 'vetting' this lady and I was just meeting her for a 'casual' lunch (just her so I could get to know her). Once I realized she was serious, I didn't complain or react in any way to demonstrate my boundaries were crossed. I just politely excused myself that I needed to visit the mens room and just walked instead to my car and left. I got calls and texts and I just blocked them all and didn't listen or read them (a good reason for a ghosting).

I started dating a woman, we were both in our 40's, I owned a commercial drywall company and wasn't concerned with money as I had enough. I overheard her comment to her daughter that she was running short of cash and she couldn't afford their spa day. A few days later I gave her $250 & said to use it for bills. I was building a multiple story building in her town but had to go to another city to work on another job for that weekend. While I was absent she went to a restaurant with friends and she used the money I'd given her and bragged her new boyfriend could afford it... When I said I wanted to design it as it was my house, she lost her bananas. I told her once she was paying rent/mortgage/insurance/utilities etc, and staying at my house 50% of her time, then we can do it together, 50-50 even all the way. She outright refused and chucked a huge tantrum. Withheld affection, sex, quality time. She visited once, maybe twice a week at best. And made that a battle. The divorce will be ugly, because she now has a 6-figure salary and will be liable to pay child support and alimony. She will have access to large legal teams to fight for child custody and not pay alimony. He won’t even recognize the woman she becomes. And, in my case, I warned my friend not to marry her.

I dont know updated version where woman can earn more than man nowadays. Though I heard anecdotal story of married couple where man when they are outdoors pays for things, while woman dont need to buy anything or can buy for herself. Weird dynamic in modern urban big city setting where both earn nicely and have couple kids(but main point man doesnt earn any more than woman these days, not like 70s where allegedly men could earn double).

I don't think that merits an instant divorce. Pay for your own meals, leave her friends to pay for themselves, and then show her how those assholes don't deserve your money just by virtue of being friends with her. When she's that dug in with her friends she might have been blinded from the logic, build it up for her and show her that you're not gonna throw money around just to impress her shitty friends and that she shouldn't assume things about you like that without talking to you ever again. Stick to your guns and show her how wrong she is, if she's still not convinced then you go for the divorce.

I’ll bet my husband of 25 years is glad I don’t really have female friends that I go out with much. Maybe a lunch or coffee every couple months, but honestly, I’ve never asked my husband to go on a meal meeting with my friends. If I did he would probably look at me like I slipped and hit my head and say: “no.” We’ve had dinners with other couples whom we are all friends, but usually when the guys go shooting or something, then we wives will go do something too. Most of the time she comes and rides my lesson horses with me since she enjoys that, and it helps me keep my lesson horses tuned up for my students. When I do actually go with a friend, that’s my time. I don’t expect my husband to want to come along. That seems silly to me. He and I spend way more time together than I would ever want to with a friend who is a woman. When I was raising our 4 children, I homeschooled, so my time was spent with them during the day 99.9% of the time. In fact, he used to tell me I needed friends to do things with, but I never saw how it fit into my life, and every time I spent time around other women, I got exhausted by how much they complained about their lives, husbands and children. I always saw how on the outside (materialisticly) they had it way better than I did, but were never content. I feel like most women are just whiners who want someone to feel sorry for them, even when they are the ones who got themselves into whatever it is they are complaining about. Going out and playing dress up is just a coping mechanism to have a momentary escape from their lives that they aren’t happy in. They need a good hobby most likely. My work is my hobby and I love sharing my horses with children every day! Now that our children are grown, I work at the barn way more, and I seldom take out time to do much else aside from come home and spend time with my husband. We learned a long time ago that eating out was a huge waste of money. So many times when we would actually go out , we would leave and my husband would say that I could have made that meal WAY better and saved us more money making it at home. The only date I do on a weekly basis is with my 76yo mother and her 82 yo husband (not my dad). Because I’m so busy and he loves bowling, I meet them on my way home from the barn , and it allows me to see them: we laugh and are silly, which I think is healthy for them. It costs us $14/person total for two hours. I don’t even like bowling. 😂 I’m thinking maybe I’m quite boring , but I doubt my husband minds not having to foot expensive outings.

I think it was cruel of husband to do so. Give or take 10 years for him to be alive, she is near her 50s and it is very hard for people to find financially rewarding jobs at that age. Lets take her mooching off on her husband LC from the table for few moments, what options does one have for living off at that age if they are to start from scratch ( this is an assumption as I dont know the full story ) and whether they can afford low wages and survive in a harsh economy ? Nobody can live old age off on rent. She will literally be homeless the moment her husband dies. If she appeals in the court, the judge can find this to be done in a bad faith and will cause daughter to be pulled into this unnecessarily. The best decision was to allow wife to be able to live there till she is alive in the will but I don't know how that works in legal context. While I know that the wife should have gotten into the relationship after thinking about it, no matter how independent one can be, late stages of life is extremely tough to be alone.

Lol, I'd actually had a woman ask me to pay for her movie ticket even though I was not there - I said no. Another one tried to take my stuff and made up a weird explanation that it could have been hers (logically does not make sense) I made her hamsterwheel a bit and said no. Another one felt so entitled that I had to pay more than 50% of our date even though she has a great salary and can definitely contribute. She still got away with paying less by being sneaky, and she rejected me physically as a consequence of me holding her accountable. The same woman also had the belief that she was so pretty/great to be around that she should be catered to/paid for. 😢 I have many more experiences, but this is enough for now.

A wife that does not support her own husband against others, and acting as one unit to support and commit to each other, is no true wife. In this case, she went against her husband here, acted a fool, made a fool of herself and her husband by extension, by taking her ‘friends’ side over her own husband. She made a promise to her ‘friends’ that she couldn’t keep and didn’t communicate with her husband beforehand either. Both husband and wife should be defending and supporting each other, acting as a single unit towards a common goal. Loyalty is dead and this particular case is absolutely disgusting, you’re right. She should have stood by her husband no matter what, defended him when her ‘friends’ made fun of her husband, and told her so called friends to pay for themselves. Note: there are occasions where the social norms vary by culture and the host pays the meal for everyone (and vice versa), but in this case, she was clearly in the wrong and did not communicate beforehand.

Worked on a case similar to the 3rd story. Man was married and had 3 kids. Wife died and all thr land she had from family was given to him in the estate. He remarries and the woman has a son and daughter. The man becomes ill and the wife and daughter isolate him from the kids. The day he dies, the stepdaughter comes into my office with her attorney and files his estate and his will. Of coarse the new wife gets everything even the previous wifes land. Her children fought her daughter in court because by this time the mother became very ill. Nobody could talk to her or see her. They claimed she was in a nursing home. But they believed that she was already dead and her daughter was hiding it to try and get all the land. The judge eventually made them split the land and they had to pay her for her half of their mothers land. And of coarse a few days after the order cane in, the mother died. And they filed her estate but in the county where the daughter was having an affair with the chancery clerk. Yeah. She has a son whose middle name is the clerks last name. Just be careful with your wills and who u marry. Family is the worst.

After 2 failed marriages (both my ex's left me for greener pastures and nearly bankrupt) I found the key to success. Marry a woman who isn't born and raised in the US. It took me 10 years after my last divorce to trust ANY woman until I met my current wife of 25+ years. She's highly educated (PhD), demure, loyal, beautiful, not materialistic, with an awesome sense of humor, plus she's a terrific mom. Bottom line here: she was raised with traditional Hispanic values in South America. Now both of our sons (in their 20's) have followed suit; one married a beautiful girl from the Netherlands and the other married a doctor from Mexico. Both are very happily married. Why deal with all the manure from "entitled", toxic, controlling US women.

Women in our society are considered valuable and are treated just like basic humans, until they prove that they are bad (and even then it's not always applied). Men are worthless and not treated as humans, until they prove that they are good (in in a very broad sense - they have to have money, muscles, big social circles, career etc). That's the main reason why depending on gender we are treated so much different, and a very harsh but true lesson that all men need to learn. Because if they don't, then the stories like in this video will happen again and again.

"charity girl" culture is alive and well. Charity girls were the working class shop girls in cities 1890-1910, who lived in apartments, often with roommates, but couldn't afford their nights out on the town. These girls were "treated" by men with the woman's frequency of being invited out based on her being "fun". "....dating was a problematic new practice for the middle classes. Its origins were decidedly not respectable; they lay in the practices of "treating" and the sexual exchanges made by "charity girls". The very term "date" came from prostitution. While the urban working class and frankly sexual origins of dating were fairly quickly obscured, ..., notions of exchange lingered."

With regards to the wife and house inheritance to the daughter; I have seen this happen in my parents Florida seniors park. Woman was living with a man (not married) in his house, that he owned. He dies and the house is left to the kids. Kids fly to Florida, put the house up for sale, that sells in one day for a good price. Kids want her to leave as the house is not hers, and has been sold. Woman moans about having no place to live now. Kids say; not our problem and to GTFO.

The man who is being attacked for refusing to pay for leaches should file for divorce immediately and save himself many years of misery.
