It is not sound less Pro than guitars you have played that cost thousands. It would be a great guitar for you to do a blind fold test. You could record 6 guitars all $500 apart in price and let us decide which guitar was the cheap HB.

I have to agree with Henning. The quality you can get for little money nowadays was completely unthinkable in the 90s, when I started making music. After Henning's video of the HB T-style guitar, I ordered a TE-62CC on a test run. She needed some love regarding the setup. But hey, 149 EUR! Not so bad pickups, tuner absolutely OK, finish very decent, Fredjob much better than my last Mexico Strat and the most important thing it' s really fun to play. No matter if it's the TE-62CC or here the JA-60CC, I think you get a good piece of guitar, which you can refine later on, if you really want to. Many thanks Henning for the as always very informative video.

Crazy that they build guitars as cheap… I own PRS, Les Paul, 2 strats, and i have 3 guitars, from Harley benton…I have a T 62 which I absolutely love, I have their 335 copy which I change the pick ups out and now he plays beautifully too. Did they need some work? Yes I had to straighten the next on both of those a bit and there’s a little bit of fret sprout. But easily taken care of…It’s hard to complain about something that you can get great sound out of that cost less than if you bought the parts individually and put them together your self almost. Anyways great job with the videos as always. I like your channel and I do believe you’re honest as you have to be. Thanks and carry-on!

Amazing sound. Nice blue finish. The pink colour isn't mine. You have done a fair test. The Fender JM sounds /rings different because of the tremolo and bridge but I think that belongs to the pure sound of a JM (and Jaguar). A TOM-Bridge and Stoptail don't make the typical noises. In your video I see and hear a very nice guitar. Wenn ich nicht schon mit einer Fender Jazzmaster happy wäre, würde ich die mir zum Testen ordern. Bei dem Preis macht der Schwabe nix falsch.

Sir, you make it sound very pleasant when you play. The recorded song is very good. i see that on your video footage it's clear that the POLES of the pickups don't sit Perfectly in line with the string.....they can be off to the side. Personally i would call that OUT as an "alignment issue" & weakness. They should be perfectly aligned with string and pole piece. (as far as i am aware) That said, you are very correct in highlighting that roasted necks and potentially roasted fingerboards as VERY unusual at this price point.....superb feature. We know that you can't just Roast any old woods. The woods need to be good quality at the outset. The roasting takes TIME and must vastly increase the price of guitars. (but not here) You are right in stating that also other brands have quality and price similar to HB but better. However, there are not many brands doing it. i know of better deals than HB but certainly HB have the solid backing of THOMAN who are turning over 800 million dollars per year selling musical instruments. .........so they should be good to go with many thanks for the review. Nobody has needed to spend over $150 on a guitar for the last 15 years. They were just wasting money.

My first acoustic guitar was a Harley Benton, a bright blue dreadnought. I don't think they even had a website back then, I tried to google it a dozen times but I never found anything. I loved that guitar, I always kinda thought I just liked it because I didn't know what a good guitar sounded like but I guess it was probably just a great instrument. It's awesome that brands like this and Squier are stepping it up, there were a couple years there where you couldn't really find good prices in pawn shops, but entry level instruments were still garbage. My "budget" rig through high school was a Roland Cube and an Ibanez that was like $450, and I've seen $300 setups that blow it out of the water.

Great looking guitar (i'm building an offset right now) but the sound just isn't there for me. It has a real thin tonal range and it just gives up when driven hard, it's like they took a JM pup, took out a lot of the brightness and left it at that. I would buy if there were more quality JM pick up alternatives (some cost more than the guitar) but for now i'm pondering doing a P90 neck, humbucker/bridge setup on the one i'm building.

@@bruceman9581 But these have slugs not adjustable screws. For these PUs to be P90's they either need adjustable screws with two magnets on each side. If the slugs are magnetic then it would be more like a regular single coil in sound and construction.

Offsets are more popular lately though- I think because lots of ppl are just sick of the Strat and Les Paul shapes. I've never gotten to even hold one, but I had an SG once and I didn't like the way it felt shifted off to one side- and I'm sure an offset would probably feel the same way to me. May be even worse tbh, I think they're even more shifted toward the head stock than an SG is.
