00:06 Cancer rates have increased dramatically due to changes in diet and lifestyle. 02:58 Obesity is replacing smoking as the major risk factor for cancer 07:46 Change in diet and lifestyle is responsible for the onset of chronic diseases 10:18 The modern lifestyle and exposure to various chemicals and pollutants pose a significant risk to our health. 14:56 Cancer originates from dysregulated cells caused by various agents and risk factors. 17:31 Disruption of energy metabolism in the mitochondria is a common pathophysiological mechanism in all cancers. 22:07 Cancer cells rely on non-oxidative energy metabolism, known as fermentation. 24:20 Targeting fermentation metabolism and transitioning to non-fermentable fuels can kill tumor cells without toxicity 28:28 Anaerobic exercise generates energy without using oxygen 30:32 Taking action is necessary for change in life. 34:43 Cancer cells survive on fermentation and can be managed by restricting fermentable fuels in the microenvironment 36:44 Genes play a crucial role in cancer development 41:01 Cancer mutations are caused by destabilized growth due to somatic mutations from dysfunctional oxidative phosphorylation. 43:13 Diet and exercise can significantly reduce the risk of developing cancer, even if you have the gene. 47:31 Ketogenic diet is an effective treatment for seizures in children. 49:24 Ketogenic diet shows promise in managing epilepsy and cancer. 52:59 Studying cancer for 40 years without a direct strategy for management 54:52 All types of cancer have commonality in their energy generation process. 59:10 Therapeutic ketosis is beneficial for health and can prevent chronic diseases. 1:01:24 Nutritional ketosis and plant-based diets have both been reported to have positive effects on cancer risk. 1:05:26 Radical changes in diet and lifestyle can lead to remissions of cancer. 1:07:32 Using a ketogenic diet and measuring the glucose ketone index can help manage cancer and achieve metabolic homeostasis 1:11:28 Metabolic therapy should be used at the beginning to eliminate cancer cells 1:13:23 Targeted therapy can be effective in managing cancer, but it needs to be used in conjunction with an understanding of evolutionary biology. 1:17:19 Ketones gradually increase and glucose drops during fasting. 1:19:12 Hyperbaric oxygen combined with ketosis can be used as an alternative to radiation for cancer treatment. 1:23:03 GKI values can be used to determine the effect of different diets on the body. 1:24:46 The treatment protocol for cancer involves a zero carb diet and water-only fasting. 1:28:35 Metabolic therapy is a viable alternative treatment for cancer patients. 1:30:25 Cancer patients want to be active participants in their healthcare. 1:34:37 Radiation and chemotherapy are not effective in treating glioblastoma. 1:36:44 Improving diet and using metabolic therapy can be safer and more effective in treating cancer 1:40:40 Sugar is not a carcinogen but it causes systemic inflammation and contributes to the obesity epidemic. 1:42:42 Access to healthy food and poverty contribute to obesity and related health issues. 1:46:45 Obesity is a major risk factor for cancer. 1:48:40 Reducing cancer risk through exercise and diet 1:52:31 Four common causes of decreased longevity

In mouse studies, fasting greatly extends lifespan and the main mechanisms is preventing cancer! Some benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: High blood pressure is lowered to normal levels very quickly while fasting. Fibrosis/scarring is reversed over time, including in the heart and lungs. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased as fasting improves metabolic health, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. It will also remove any 'foreign material' like spikes that are not supposed to be there. Whether natural or unnatural in origin.. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered when fasting, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Fasting increases nitric oxide release. Fasting restores NAD+ to healthy levels. Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Fasts from 36-96 h increase metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Telomeres are lengthened and fasting also increases anti-aging Yamanaka factors. After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles up to 1/3 of all immune bodies, rejuvenating your entire immune system. This helps prevent the onset of new autoimmune conditions, which develop through a leaky gut and damaged immune system. Fasting can help with MS, Depression, BPD, Autism and seizures. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. The thymus also plays a vital role in fighting cancer. Weight loss from daily caloric restriction has 1/4 to 1/3 of the weight lost as lean tissue while many studies show fat loss from 36 h fasts without losing any lean tissue! The obese will lose extra tissue like loose skin while fasting, but the skinny or frail will have increased growth hormone release than the obese, which helps to make more lean tissue and reduce frailness. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell required for viruses to replicate. The hunger hormone ghrelin also lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many meds are dangerous to take while fasting. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone. Fasting also increases insulin sensitivity, which helps with muscle building. Fasts of 36-96 will not affect short term female fertility or affect menstrual cycle. They also may increase long term fertility, especially in women with PCOS. Fasting reduces pain and anxiety by stimulating the endocannabinoid system in a similar way to CBD oil. One day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! This reduces leptin resistance, which impairs immune function. Stomach acid is reduced over time while fasting and can allow for the healing of treatment resistant ulcers. Some patients may need continued acid reduction medication while fasting. Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No. Except for brief periods of very intense exercise, your body mainly burns fats in the form of free fatty acids. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells Lowering insulin via fasting virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism, fighting infection and cancer prevention! Fasting releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth. This can help a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. When not in ketosis, the brain can only burn carbohydrate, which produces a great deal of damaging ROS the brain has to deal with. When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells, destroying them. Senescent cells are responsible for many of the effects of aging and are a root cause of the development of cancer. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and extremely low carbs. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. They also help with dementia and many other issues even if you take them while not fasting! Glycine and trimethylglycine can also be useful supplements while fasting that won't break ketosis and have many benefits. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness or tremors, then simply break the fast and seek advice. I've just breaked my 72 hrs fast now. I run 72s rolling fasts. In january i had a diagnose for a very rare lymphoma. 8 cm tumor, not operable with surgery. Doctors were optimistic, but they gave me NO therapy in that moment (4 months of diagnostic tests to confirm the diagnose and exclude other forms of cancers). I went on a fasting cycle since january. When the tumor was 6 cm - on april - my oncologist whispered to me: "Keep fasting". Now my tumor is 4,5 cm of maximum lenght, less than 1 cm in thickness (it's a plaque). I'm waiting to talk with my oncologist for a new reasessment. Fasting is a precious skill but it has some dangers if you go on to far. 3 things are to avoid for very long fastings or repeteated fasting cycles: - hyponatremia, that is salt deficiency DURING the fast; TAKE your SALT if your fasting is a long one. - refeeding syndrome, that is a reaction when you BREAK a very long fasting, and it is potentially letal; eat very tiny meals after the end of a very long fasting, take potassium, phosporous, magnesium and vit. B1. Refeeding syndrome is the cause of death for people who do very long fastings with no experience. It causes a strong electrolyte imbalance. - Vitamin and mineral deficiencies. I'm in the fasting thing since 2014. I was obese, now i'm very fit. Still i had to learn A LOT about vitamins and minerals, ad i've supplemented every time was necessary due to the fasting cycles. I had deficiencies with vitamin A and C (yes, the scurvy), with zinc, potassium, iron, and yes, i've been SALT deficient (non optimal, salt deficiency is soon letal) for months in the last years. Now i've eaten 3,5 cm of my lymphoma in 8 months, and i'm going to fast till the end of it. To be diagnosed with cancer at 43 is an HARD TIME. BUT seems that the hunger game is a lot harder for the tumor. [Docs do not know the WHY i had a rare form of lymphoma: it's probably due to some form of intoxications (metal? chemicals?). My long term fasting regimen could not prevent this thing, with autophagy, AND probably my body had not the proper nutritional state to fight the cancer in the first place - i was deficient in vit. C and A last year, when the cancer came)]

@@BT-be8rh So many people still hypnotized by the safe and effective narrative. It’s so sad. Those who tout it as being great are welcomed by everyone, but the second someone speaks out against the jab, they’re shut down. I was at my mother in law’s church function last night and an older lady saw a meme I had on my phone which was against the shot, and she asked if I got it, to which I replied no. The conversation ended, which was fine because my wife was there with her mother, and her mom worships the shots and boosters. A prayer was requested about someone coming down with “covid,” despite all the ladies at the church being injected. We’re living in a world where critical thinking has been eradicated.

Guy TENENBAUM's case about cancer and his protocol : - a low-carb diet outside the fasting period (total elimination of carbohydrates/sugars) and eating OMAD (One Meal A Day) crucifers, garlic, onions, avocados, walnuts/almonds, olive oil and oily fish to avoid losing too much weight (avoid meat and cheese) - taking specific food supplements that Guy TENENBAUM has called TCC (The Cancer Cure) which correspond to his 5 essentials, with the dosage he took: * High-dose melatonin 30 mgr before going to bed (Phycocyanine or Lithotamne, but the most powerful would be melatonin): inhibition of SCOT (to use pure phycocyanine and lithotamne to increase the volume of SCOT inhibitors in addition to melatonin) * Allicin (either as a 2400 mg quality concentrated pill, or with crushed raw garlic): up/down stream of SCOT * Matcha green tea (with turmeric and ginger): up/down stream of SCOT * Metabolic treatment (metabloc): Alpha Lipoic Acid (or Sodium R Lipoate, 600mg 3 times a day, 1800mg in total) + Garcinia Cambodgia (Hydroxycitric Acid, 600mg 3 times a day, 1800mg in total) + CoQ10 (the transporter, 100mg morning noon evening) * Omega 3 in a DHA - EPA ratio (500mg DHA/200mg EPA): to fight keto paradox during ketogenic diet or the fasting phase * Bromelain (850mg to 5000 GDU) and Quercetin (500mg) for nodules * Berberine and Curcumin to block additional metabolic pathways - Alkalinise the body with a combination of baking soda and cider vinegar - if the body allows it: long fasting then the following month by short fasting and intermittent fasting + taking nutrients and minerals to avoid deficiencies (vitamin D3, Magnesium Bisglycinate and multivitamins)

My 80 years old brother was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma in the pancreas in April 2023. I am a not practitioner MD and when I saw this professor's explaining the metabolic approach of cancer, it made perfectly sense to me. I suggested my brother NOT to take radio nor chemotherapy and follow professor Seyfriedt instructions + turmeric + berberine. In August 2023 he took a new PET and the cancer was gone. His doctor couldn't believe the result of the control PET and ordered to review the biopsy from April believing there was a mistake in the biopsy report and that it has not been a Ca, but a pancreatitis. The review of the biopsy confirmed it was an adenocarcinoma. Many many thanks Dr. Seyfried 🙏

Completely brain washed.. As a plumber/engineer, I spend time out side of working hours researching new science, techniques and info and try to keep as up to date and as informed as possible with the industry that I’m in… My concern is that doctors only learn “new” stuff that is pushed in front of them by the pharmaceutical industry (or which ever health organisation they work for/ their employers) and only know what’s inside the bubble…. They can’t talk like these guys are talking and would probably loose their jobs if they did… And… some of them are so high and mighty like they know it all! I could probably tell my doctor a few things that they don’t know, that they definitely should know… and I probably spend far more time outside of working hours learning about things that they should be learning about… The industry is MASSIVE and absolutely coining it.. GP’s are the bottom of the pile- professionals at prescribing man made tablets rather than taking people seriously and figuring out the root cause of their problems.. So, basically, we need to start taking responsibility of their own health and wellbeing even if it’s only to put 2 fingers up to the system… in my experience, doctors are a waste of time unless you don’t know any better. Rant over 😂😩

My friends 26 year old granddaughter recently died of bowel cancer. Why any surgery on people with cancer tumours is questionable, because cancer grows on tissue scars from surgeries. They appear again and new blood vessels on those scars. That, s why the diet after surgery is so important,no sugar, no glutamine. In general amines ( which are many types, ) are involved in cancer proliferation. All the braised meat contains sugar, and in restaurants they use sugar or honey to produce that nice crust in baked meat, which is carcinogenic . People work long hours, they do not have time to search and get informed. And when they have time ,they relax(?) and do not take time to become informed. Even lots of doctors work long hours and do not have time to get informed. . and those who have time, relax too much are not interested to get new informations, and remain only with what they learned during training. Some of us know more about certain things than these kind of doctors. When they have health problems, they treat themselves in the old way. uninformed way, and they pay the price. Many got the jabs, which shows they were not informed.

This podcast has inspired me to take a more proactive vs a dangerously passive approach to my survival. My new primary care Dr. told me to eat anythng, and pressured me to take covid, shingles, flu shots, & bone density tests, all immediately with a myocardial heart condition and a 3-6 mo. prognosis. That dude is simply trying to get my insurance money and kill me! No talk of alt therapies, nutrition, exercise or even blood sugar, or inflammation! God led me here.

One died at an early age and another battled it for 25 years before finally succumbing to the disease. However, only one member of the family was ever diagnosed with cancer and he died within two years. So far, and I have known this family for over 30 years, no one else has had any issues with cancer. Something important to note is that they all were born and raised in central Mexico and generally eat a traditional Mexican diet with very little American-style "fast foods".

I will not listen, because I have come to the conclusion that food, and especially pre-cooked or cooked in places of public consumption, is unhealthy. In fact, you do not need to eat 3 times a day and in between snacks. I realized this after studying the lifestyle of the Greek monks. They consume food 1-2 times a day. Each time of food consumption for 20 minutes with excellent chewing. Therefore, the monastery doctor has nothing to do and he works in the garden. I adopted their lifestyle and feel great. I walk 5 miles a day and do yoga. I am 73 years old. Wish you all the best. 🙋🏼‍♀️♥️

You obscure any truth by your overgeneralizations. There exists at least one place where cooked food is healthy on Earth, there is also a non-zero incidence of public safe consumption, etc. etc. You could study the chemistry instead of the monks. You could better define the variables, environment. You remind me of my friend's brother, who deduced that the brown, oxidized tips of ripening bananas cause cancer. My grandmother reached 110 and 35 days. My non-Greek family wins. No, not relevant.

My brother in law died of cancer last March. He was doing great on chemo 2 year after he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. By they had to stop the chemo to radiate a brain tumor. Things accelerated out of control from there. Now I understand from this video, that the radiation produced a surge of glucose and glucamine that actually fed the cancer. So sad! Now at least I know.

You should not believe this guy just because he says so, he says many unsubstantiated things... The claim that radiation causes a surge in glutamine is one of these. A friend of mine was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. He had a severe inflamation in one of his knees. He couldnt bend or fully strighten or extend his knee for 3 yrs. He was seen by the best knee specialist doctors. He tried all routine treatments such as medicine of all kind, removing fluid from the knee and injection into the knee to make the inflamation better. He also had many physiotherapy sessions and excercise at home but none of the treatments made him better. One day he heard aboud the connection between sugar and gluten and inflamation in the body so he decided to stop eating bread and anything made of wheat. He already wasnt taking sugar for many years. So basicly he added bread to the NO list. He is now been not eating bread for 3 months but after two months of stopping eating bread, the swelling and the severe pain of his knee disapeared and his knee function is almost back to normal. He hopes to exclude bread from his diet for the rest of his life.

Dr. Seyfried has motivated me to check out the keto mojo meter, which I blew off because I already have a Ketosis meter and glucose meter. What he describes is a better tool for monitoring staying in ketosis, and I shied away because of the cost. His guidance has helped me understand it will be worth it to switch, given my goal of being more metabolically flexible and having a better understanding of how my body reacts when I stress eat. People with thyroid problems caused by stress unfortunately can't fast or eat so very little, because it causes more stress, but carnivorous diet (meat and some greens), raw butter, might help.

I was going with a friend who was a native. Pacific islander to take her to dialysis and most of the clientele at the dialysis clinic was native Americans and East Asian. This was located in an area that was predominantly white . In some ways I feel that the standard American diet is even more harmful to folks that traditionally ate a different diet.

It could be. White Europeans are more adapted to eating wheat.

Best conversation I ever heard.....Thank you so much for sharing. I know I got better changing my diet after an injury. I didn't even know how many issues I had until after an MRI. After 3 yrs I am stable and reduced my issues and taking no meds. Shame the Medical system is not so helpful anymore!

The goal is to keep your mitochondria healthy. That can be achieved through fasting, diet, lifestyle, and exercise.

I live in south america. I am satisfied with the discussion on fighting cancer. Thanks to the 2 doctors many times. God bless you in your great efforts to help people. Question: Is wild honey good to use in place of refined sugar?

Thank you Dr Seyfried. I have changed many factors in my life: I walk every day for 30-40 minutes, I no longer eat sugar at all, I make an effort to eat a ketogenic diet, and I am 84 years of age! I say this to encourage others much younger than I. The only thing that I have trouble with is stress reduction. I wish that there was a magic bullet for that! Any hints or suggestions?
