Omg sounds of my young child years !!! Brings back memories. Notice how back in the 80s vids there was really no emphasis on color or race ! The dancers , the extras , all just a beautiful mix of everyone 🥰. Wish we could go back n all just enjoy each other’s company again 🥺. Mel u look gorgeous as usual n I’m loving the hair !! 😍😍😍

You may not know this but because you're so familiar with the song you quite possibly do. Am I remembering correctly that this song was on the soundtrack to that Eighties or early nineties Movie called the Last Dragon? A surprisingly good Kung Fu movie about a black Bruce lee. He called himself Bruce Leroy. And the villain's name was...... I can't exactly remember it's a toss up between "Shogun".....or I think its actually "Sho Nuff"

@@natecloe8535 The Last Dragon was a feel good martial arts movie like Bg Trouble in Little China without as much silliness. Great ending… “Who’s the dragon?” According to IMDB, the lead was Tiamat as Leroy Green, and the bad guy was Julius Carry as Sho’nuff… but I also remember him as Bruce Leroy. Google search brings up the movie as well.

El Debarge is the lead singer on "Rhythm Of The Night" and the main singer of the band. He had a solo career as well with a couple hits including "Love Always" & "Who's Johnny" from the movie Short Circuit. I would love to see a reaction for Fefe Dobson "Take Me Away" from 2003.

They were eventually convicted of the charges and sentenced to two different prisons to serve their sentences. I bought this single (many others) on a 45rpm vinyl record. Yes, they were still a thing in the 80's. I remember checking for copies without a scratch. Late 80's it switched to cassette singles. This song was used in the Motown movie called 'The Last Dragon' which I saw in the theater in real time.

There has been a debate going on for awhile about which family group is better vocally, Debarge or the Jackson's. And as much as I love the Jackson's and Michael is the greatest entertainer to walk this planet, and Janet is a Hall of Famer, Debarge is the more vocally talented family. All of them can sing. This is the first song I remember hearing steel drums in, in a pop song. Of course I’d heard them in Bob Marley and others, mostly reggae music. But never in dedicated pop music before this, as far I remember anyway. And I fell in love with the versatility of that sound, hearing it in a new way. It speaks to and soothes my soul.
