@@CxrsonYo5 million for 24 points. So about a dozen good games a season and about 70 games where he is invisible, but hey Waddell really showed Bergevin how to make a stupid offer shet eh! To think he is only signed until 2030 so who knows he might get to 100 points by the end of that deal. Bergy should have taken Tkachuk

Maybe the Hurricanes will offer sheet Josh Roy in the future with a signing bonus of 82$ as a "hint" for allowing the bust to be let go, sending him to the 'Canes. Loll I can't believe they offered the guy just short of 5 million$ until 2030. Kotkaniemi cashed out big from the pure ego of his GM.
@albertvanular433
@albertvanular433 3 ай бұрын
I suspect it wasn't the GM but the owner of the Canes, Thomas Dundon, who has a huge ego. His nose was out of joint when Bergevin sent an offer sheet to Sebastian Aho a few years ago and the clown thought he would get even by telling his GM to send an offer sheet KK. Man did that move backfire. Bergevin did the right thing by letting Kotkaniemi go and taking the draft picks instead. Unfortunately, MB totally blew it by giving up the picks to get Christian Dvorak who has also been a bust for Montreal.

@@albertvanular433 You're absolutely right. I stand corrected. It was indeed the owner of the canes. Not the GM.

We were lucky with roy. He was less than a month away from being eligible for the following year's draft. It's the year we took him that he destroyed his league. Easily would have gone out in the 1st round, had he been a month younger.

To be fair, PLD would probably have much better offensive stats if he had been playing for Montreal during the rebuilding versus playing for the Kings, a team that also has Phillip Danault and Anze Kopitar playing as centermen. I'm not trying to take anything away from Joshua Roy though. The guy is doing a great job especially for such a young Québecois with offensive skills. Only 12 players from the 2021 draft have played more NHL games than Roy.

Not a knock on Roy, yes he's doing good yes he is going to improve and I can't wait to see this team in 4 years... BUT suggesting that Roy is producing WAY more than kotkaniemi or pld... kotkaniemi has 24 pts in 66 at the ppg that Roy has he would be at 28... 4 more points... yes he's 20 but it's not waaaay more... that's 1 more pts every 16 games... come on... but I'd take Roy before those 2 no questions asked

Kotkaniemi is even worse than that (he had a good start) but since then he has 3 goals and 6 assists in 45 games! An average of 0.2 per game and over 82 games would be 16.4 points. Monteal dodged a bullet not keeping that punk.
