Pereira is the low risk fight but also the one which will get more attention. Pereira is the face of the UFC right now . And aspinall is a bad matchup for jones . End of his career against a younger opponent in a higher weight class isn’t the best idea . And he’s quick for his size too . Unless it’s a big money fight , jones wouldn’t want to risk losing his unbeaten record.

At this point I am so tired of hearing about both fighters. I wish Jones would just retire and give up the belt. Let Tom have it. I would bet almost anything that even if that happened. Tom is going to whine about Jon Jones for his entire career. The reality is the HW division is the weakest it has been for 20 years. There are like no names anymore. I do feel a bit bad for Tom though as unless he beats Jones or Ngannou, he won't have a chance of creating a good legacy for himself. His fights would just be Gane, Volkov, Pavlovich, Blaydes rematch, etc. Not super exciting.

@@mariospanna8389 Issue is there was a signed contract for Jones vs Stipe before Tom even won the Interim title. You can't just flush those down the toilet. Jones injured his pec training and was out a long time. They needed to do this fight because it was signed. Jones SHOULD fight Tom next but he doesn't seem interested and may just relinquish the belt. Tom needs that fight more than Jones, so he will be visible frustrated.

Now that the fight is done with, let's see what happens. Jones was injured sitting out preparing for Stipe. You can't rip up a SIGNED fighter contract and book Tom vs an injured Jon Jones. Learn how the sport works man. If Jones does not fight Tom next, he WILL be stripped and Tom gets promoted to HW Champ.

In my opinion Jon is the GOAT. Even if he lost to Aspinall, I'd still consider him the GOAT - based on his career as a whole, and the level he was at at his peak. NOT fighting Aspinall would (ironically) hurt Jon's legacy more than anything! Someone needs to tell Jon this 😂
