I was also thinking about how it's getting done right. Better that then crooked everything ànd no access points. In my experience, it's really annoying having things look like someone rushed through it. It's hard to fix it once that happens.

Home renovations always take longer than expected. A friend of mine just bought a house, and we spend 3 hours just doing quarter round, which is the easiest thing to do. You got this Jordan! Also, don’t be afraid to ask for help. That’s what family and friends are for, and many hands make the load light. We’re pulling for you man!

These videos encourage me immensely. When I don't make as much progress as I would like to in the midst of a project, I can get really discouraged. However, progress (no matter how small) is still progress! You're still moving forward, Jordan, and inching closer to the end of the finish line! You've got this! Thank you for giving us the chance to join you along the way.

I want a resolution at the 'building a house' videos but I loved the dog house in a hill videos and the porch videos and these DIY HGTV style videos are VERY COOL to me and I could watch hours of this and be happy. "Try longer buddy boy" That is strangely motivational out of context. I think it's the human condition to think they can do more than they actual can in any amount of time. At least you are trying to work on it every day which helps! I was able to edit a large chunk of my story and I'm aiming to begin actual writing again by about this time next week. You've got this Jordan! We believe in you! I have been painting a feature wall for my bedroom wall and there has been some challenges along the way. So basically, I had to sand the wall, then do some puttying and more sanding, then I put two coats of primer and two coats of paint, and then I pulled off the painters tape that I had put on the wall next to it and it pulled up some of the old crappy paint from that wall. So now I have to putty over that crappy paint just so that it doesn't keep pulling away from the rest of the wall. After that I have to sand it and paint it to match the original color. The point of this story is to tell you that sometimes things don't go as smoothly as you'd like or they take a lot longer than you'd like and it can be frustrating... BUT! You've been making progress, and putting in the work, and you're doing great so keep it up!

You doing great, I'm impressed your lines are so straight. That your lines were straight without a straight edge when sawing. Something you might look into for speed is for cutting the sheet rock instead of using a saw you can use an exacto blad once or twice over your markings. Then bend the sheet rock like you're opening a door. I think your sawing method was the best method for the window part. As there were a ton of corners. This was just for future reference.
@JordanTaylorVideos
@JordanTaylorVideos 4 күн бұрын
I appreciate that fact! I do know that method and use it constantly, but for areas I’m cutting that are connected on two sides, I can’t bend the sheet rock. I use that method when I have just one side attached and can bend.

My mom has a voice note recording on her phone from last summer of my dad promising he will never hang drywall again cause every time he says he will never do it again because it’s difficult and stresses him out and then he always does it again next time. He’s currently working on an apartment in a metal barn and he’s hiring out the drywall for the first time! I’ve never done the drywall myself but I’ve helped with the mudding before and I think it’s way harder than it looks to do it well.

I deleted my explanation of why I was doing it this way instead of cutting out a small strip for the top. It’s stronger this way instead of having separate pieces meeting in the corners of the window. It cracks easier that way and that joint isn’t nearly as strong because it’s not the two beveled edges of the sheet rock touching. Confusing!!!!
