A little tip: stop jumping so much, I had an issue with this too in the beginning it trains tons of stamina (the blue bar on the right) and it makes chasing down/escaping a lot harder when you're out

Fun fact: Gigantic was anounced before Overwatch! The robot character predates Bastion.

@@Brian-iz8fi Well the combat isnt very engaging. I play if you play range you have an escape for some reason and since you are range and maps are small you are probably near your healing tree thing. Close range characters have crazier escapes. (I mained wu) leading to me dying 1 or 2 times almost all my games except for the first few. Its basically if league of legends only had tanks but its a "hero shooter" You can say this is just my opinion but this game has lost over 70%(edit 88%) of its playerbase already. It's gonna die it looks like it was a cash grab. IDK how long they will keep the servers open for. They really scammed the shit out of me. The tutorial as well as looking at the character design/skills and then my first couple matches took me over the 4 hour mark so I couldn't refund x.x. I heard its even worse for console players. They had crazy game breaking bugs for the first 2 weeks. IDK man game is just bad and the number clearly agree with this statement.

Just a tip for newer players, but when you jump in combat it takes 10 (or 15) stamina of yours; so, if you jump a lot but also wonder why you don't have any stamina left when you're trying to run after someone or to try and escape yourself, that's why. However, jumping can still be good to move around at times. Additionally, there's a jump + attack move every melee character can perform, which leaps you forward at a cost of stamina--if you hit someone in the back with this, you "cripple" them (a medium slow, and cripple specifically makes it so they can't jump... and maybe sprint) for 2 or 3 seconds.

Biggest thing hurting this game is price. Its hard to convince people to get into a game like this when the more popular variants are free. Edit: I'm not saying it was a really stupid move to charge I'm just saying it will be a hurdle to get over in getting new players.

Overwatch was one of the biggest hero shooters out there and was bare minimum $40 if you could even find that version and didn't get duped into paying $60 AND overwatch still had microtransactions and paid content. This game is $20 and doesn't expect you to pay for loot boxes. The main problem this game faces is a lack of marketing but even still, being successful is more of a secondary objective here. This game is for the fans of the original. If it gets enough attention we might get more stuff, if it doesn't, oh well at least we have it again.

Marketing is exactly what killed the first game (which has drastically improved this time) but the reason I think my points stand is that overwatch got to settle into it's place. To many people this sequel of a game is their very first time with it at all. Overwatch 2 also went free to make up for everything so that's why I wouldn't put that under that reason.

@@Baphelon agreed but for most people gameplay comes first and if they can't market the game well enough to out due the "cost" of not being free then that may not end well. Also micro transactions aren't bad for games on their own. It's when they are implemented improperly.

@@lesliejacoby9137 Overwatch 2 went free to play to accommodate a rapidly decaying player base and has largely failed to do so in the long run. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "Overwatch had time to settle" like, yeah it did because it was heavily marketed and widely popular. I don't see how that changes anything? There are plenty of other p2p games that are successful because of marketing or word of mouth, and generally f2p games have proven to either work really well for a while and then die as people lose interest, or just outright die due to poor marketing. You could even make the argument that the f2p model is partially what killed Gigantic to begin with. You see, f2p games don't make a lot of money off the average player, most of their funds come from "whales" (players who spend a metric ton on microtransactions.) The goal of a f2p game is to use the f2p status of the game to cast as wide of a net as possible to rope in as many potential whales as possible. This is where marketing and word of mouth come in. Why do you think games like LoL pay so much money for huge music videos? Not to rope in the average person who might buy like, one K/D/A skin, but rather to attract the people who will drop $100-$200 dollars buying all the skins and cosmetics they can. With this in mind, a game like Gigantic, which doesn't have a whole lot of marketing power, isn't going to be able to cast a super wide net and likely won't make much money off of whales. It just makes more sense for them to use a p2p model and make a small amount of money off of every player rather than try to rope in maybe a thousand more people who still probably won't be enough to finance the game.

Just a quick tip: jumping takes a lot of stamina and delay how long until it recharges. Basically don’t spam jump or you will lose your stamina quickly
