Sick Hamster🤒 Hamster Honki had a cold. In this video I will show you how a hamster with cold sounds like and looks like🥺 Hamsters can quickly get a cold or flu. At the beginning a hamster will have the following symptoms: Frequent sneezing and other worrisome noises, watery eyes/glassy eyes, runny nose. If your hamster is sick in any case you need to go to the vet directly!

My hamster JUST started making these sounds today and she was dead in just a few hours. She never made these sounds before. The illness took her quickly before I could do anything. I think she was sicker than I thought. At first she didn’t say much. It can be a silent killer.

Yes, that was so terrible🥺 Fortunately, he quickly got better and today Honki is fit as a fiddle🤗🤗🤗

Hat er nur eine Spritze mit AB bekommen oder musstest du ihm das auch noch länger geben? Habe seit Donnerstag einen Hamster und er niest leider auch und macht Atemgeräusche. Am Montag werde ich zum Tierarzt gehen, habe aber Schiss, dass ich ihm selbst das AB gar nicht verabreichen kann, weil ich noch so unerfahren bin

Tut mir leid, dass ich jetzt erst antworte, war eine Weile nicht aktiv.. Honki hat nur einmal eine Spritze mit Antibiotika und einem Entzündungshemmer bekommen, danach ging es ihm schnell besser. Wie ist es bei euch ausgegangen? Ich hoffe gut🫶🏼

i have three hamsters and they live in a cage together (they’re really comfy with each other!!) i was wondering if i should separate them from their dad cos i just recently found out he has a cold 😢

I think it would be better, but they may already be infected

You need to separate all of the hamsters before the kill each other. They are solitary animals. Sleeping together is a display of dominance. It doesn’t mean they like each other

Hi, Which vet did you go to? Which country/state? I called the vet. They don't give injection to hamsters here.

I'm from germany. Almost every vet here does this, even for small animals. Maybe try it on a few others. Good luck🍀

@@HonkiTheHamster, oh she was sneezing a week ago when I got worried and called the exotic animal hospital. I think it was because her water bowl was a bit colder than usual and she put her nose on it and she started sneezing. Thankfully, it did not last longer than 30 minutes. I was so worried that it was a flu or a cold. I asked you because I am always worried about what vet to go to if they get sick. It is hard for me to find a good and reliable vet for hamsters here in USA. I think they even do medicine a bit different here. I prefer Europe for this kind of issues. I have to find a hamster parent in my area for recommendation. Thanks for your concerns. BTW, Honki is super adorable.

@@HonkiTheHamster Hi, my hamster eventually got sick and I took her to emergency Vet. She was not sneezing as frequently as Honki, but it was worrying. The Vet gave her 14 doses of oral antibiotics that I had to feed her with a syringe. She literally gaged and spit out the last doses. and became very weak the last days. She is doing better now, but I am worried it may become recurring as she is 19 months now. Oral TMS antibiotics is the norm here for upper respiratory infections. If it did not work she would have been given another 14 doses for the second round. I wish there was an injection option here. Do you have the name of the injection antibiotics so I can mention it to the vet next time? Did they have to anesthetized Honki to give him the injection? I would appreciate it if you reply.

GODDDD UGHHH my hamster is sneezing- I took him to the vet- he gave me vitamin C and he's not getting better at all or worse thankfully- but the sneezing is concerning @@ifrtfr
