My *almost* Daily Hamster Care

About a month ago I adopted a Syrian hamster after 2 years of not owning one and I’ve noticed how much hamster care has developed in such a good way in that time where I live anyway. It’s definitely a very positive thing and I’m very happy to be back being a hamster parent! Also had 2 years worth of your videos to catch up which has been great! 🤭 Penny and nickel are just adorable and it’s great to see the other pets doing so good :)

I have two rehomed sugar gliders among two kitties a dog and a box turtle. It is a lot of work daily, weekly. It's so worth it to know that they all deserve to be pampered, kept clean and have the best food. Thank you for,sharing ❤😊

I went to get the stuff for a small hamster at petco and walked away with a little surrendered robo. I saw this channel and started making things better for him. He went from a small plastic starter cage to a six foot by one foot cage made with scrap wood, jars, tunnels, and lots of bedding. Not the best but far from the worst. Thanks for all your help!

Hi Victoria I just wanted to thank you for these educational videos that you make they really helped my hamster care when I first got my Syrian Hamster Chip he started out in a 20 gallon tank with 2 inches of bedding one hide a 7 inch wheel and a sand bath with lemon scented sand and a very plain diet but then about 1 month later I found out about your channel and I realized what I was doing was wrong and that I needed to change it so I bought him a 40 gallon tank got rid of the sand bath and the wheel I bought him an 11 inch wheel safe sand, logs, chews, hay, paper bedding, herbs, different substrates like coco fiber, more hides, a water dish, sprays, and now I use 8 inches of bedding thank you so much he is sooo much happier!

Hi Victoria :) I just want to thank you so much for teaching me the proper care. If it wasn’t for u, Chip would be in a ferplast cage with a 6 inch wheel and 2 inches of bedding. Now, she has a bin cage with 6 inches of bedding, corklogs, sand baths, multiple substrates, a 10 inch wheel, and sprays. Thank you again so much ❤ I’m actually still a young kid (with permission to comment) my friends and I love your channel so much. The biggest love a hammy parent can give is letting them out to run free ,so many people under estimate how much they need to RUN not in a cage ,don't matter how big the cage ,they like to explore different places // i let mine out daily ,he is so happy when out running ,i have made my bedroom into a hammy safety area ,when he goes back to his cage he normally then falls asleep ,and he is healthy and happy ,i watch him all the time though ,never leave them un supervised /all the other aspects of hamster care is common sense and research to keep them happy x i don't agree with small children keeping them ,they need a lot of time ,care and love ,they are adorable little critters ,had them all my life ,it kills me seeing them suffer x

It really depends on the hamster 😊 there are many who are very content in their enclosures and even may be stressed coming out into a playpen. My robo Toonie doesn’t like human interaction so it wouldn’t even be possible to take her out considering she hides the 90% of the time you come into the room.

I wasn't into pet rodents growing up, but seeing these cool enclosures make them seem way more fun to me than the cramped pet store setups! I love the idea of landscaping a whole habitat for a little guy, now id love to rehome one someday ❤

My grandma owned hamsters when she was younger she kept them in a wire bottomed cage with a 4 inch wheel and a water bowl. So after she came to see my hamsters she was shocked to see the 1,462 double decor cage with lots of enrichment for my 2 rescued hybrid dwarf pair. But none of that would have been possible if you did not put in your time researching into hamsters. So thank you for teaching me all that you know. And so I decided that no hamster should have to live in one of those tiny cages. So I start my own KZbin channel just like you and have spent the past 4 years watching all of your vids and learning so much. (Btw My channel is at 132 subs). So thank you for putting in the time for learning about are 4 legged 4 /5 towed critters because without you none of this would have been possible!!! Btw your hamsters are so adorable 🥰!!!

Penny is so adorable!! I recently got another Syrian hamster after my old one Kevin passed suddenly, and he’s been very tough to tame lol! He gets up around 2 AM, and as someone who is still in school, that’s quite hard to work around 😂 Also every time I put sprays in there, he drags the whole thing back to his hideout 😅

WHOA! That is... a LOT of bedding! This is the first hamster care video I've ever watched, and I'm not familiar with them, like, at all, so I'm honestly shocked that you fill like 2/3 of the cage with bedding as opposed to just a couple of inches! Do they actually need that much? (genuine question because I'm planning on getting one of these little furballs and just started doing research)

Hamsters are burrowers! In the wild they can burrow up to 3 feet sometimes deeper, so deep substrate is very important for them ☺️

Hey victoria i love ur content i have a hamster named kiwi unfortunately i had to get him from a pet shop(all the online ones were also from bad breeders or the hamsters were sold bcz they had bad health conditions) where he was housed with his siblings without water or food and got seperated from his mom before 8 weeks old i bought him and i provided him with great enrichment and a very big enclosure thank you very much for all the information and great content may god bless you, penny,nickel,sadie,JJ,lola,and cleo ❤

I was giving fresh fruit and veggies every day but noticed a tiny worm in his food hord. Now I only give him fresh food every 2-3 days and I chop it small so it will dry out if he doesn’t eat it.
