I understand the surrender. Your team was ahead and had better teamfighting. Also, it's not like your team was all early game champions, and Kassadin -- as powerful as he can be in the mid-game -- was REALLY far behind. You pretty much made a textbook example of how to play vs. Kassadin in the early game: non-stop harass. Even if he harasses you back, you will almost always come out ahead, and you are likely denying him creeps in the process.

They surrender when they finally realize the Orianna was Pekin, and their slimmer of hope was vanquished. Their world falls into despair and chaos… Surrendering was their best choice, against an eternity of torture (a losing game feels like it take forever to end).. or maybe it’s what you said idk

Honestly the most important textbook is about all of Orianna's problems, missing only the low base attack damage being mentioned, she's my second favorite champion and it sucks see all this issues and nothing ever will get done about it

@@vxytor Eh, she has a lot of control and utility, and she can play very safe in teamfights. She's been a popular pick with pro players for a very long time for a reason. You don't take Ori if your team needs damage, for better or for worse.

@@vxytor Yeah but her base AD is so low bc her passive will still make her autoattacks stronger than almost any other champ early game. With D Ring and a better baseAD there would be no champ to match her early push, even now there are few. For that same reason her Q gets weaker for each enemy it hits. The problem why her damage wont get buffied is simply bc she is probably the best peeling mage in the game. She can give the ball to a carry to increase armor/mr, speed them up and she has a very strong ult. If she got any high damage on top of that and her oppressive lane, it would just be a pick or ban champ tbh

Maybe it's just me, but I wish Ori's Q had the circle indicator her E did. The clarity of exactly how far away you can play from the ball when q'ing would be nice for learning.

Is a the bump to attack speed worth it? I would assume so, for the fact that you can last hit better against minions during the early game.

yes, you always take an aspeed shard on ori. it's not just about prepping minions and lasthitting, because it helps you weave extra autos in during trades as well.

ori passive is additional on hit per auto, so you actually maximize the value of that by bringing AS shard.

liandry has more dps than ludens overall (because of ability haste) and champions like sett and skarner are pretty bulky so it's pretty good against them too not speaking for pekin, but this is why I personally would pick liandry this game

Additionally, Orianna is not really a burst/oneshot type mage but rather consistent DPS with low CDs so constantly applying the burn is very easy

Q is a better ability overall you can poke with it without losing much mana and the cooldown gets shorter which allows you to poke and reposition the ball more efficiently maxing W would just make you run out of mana too quickly and Q's cooldown would be too high ori is a control mage, not a burst one, so simply going for more damage isn't exactly how she wants to play the game

you can put extra point or two into W into something like yasuo if you find he's constantly dashing on top of you and forcing trades, but generally you want to max Q asap so you can exert pressure with its low cooldown. Maxing W first will eat through your mana pool in about 3-4 casts and make it very difficult to position your ball - you'll also lose your sustained fighting power. people who've played vs ori before are going to be watching for your Q-W, so ideally you want to be able to position the ball to pressure them off the wave, and you will have a harder time doing that if your Q is on a long cooldown. They'll just walk around it and pressure you off the wave while your Q is on cd. ori tends to get outbursted by other mages and assassins and out-dps'd by melee mids, so wave control really is your most important tool in lane.

@@maomekat2369 she was, at one point, quite strong. the game changed around her. Champion abilities are more powerful and more interactive (aka they assume you have tools to outplay them), Items have less stats than they used to have, shields have been gutted across the board, and control mages have been intentionally nerfed to force assassins into the competitive scene. Where ori was once relatively hard to stick damage on to, and very safe, she's now a sitting duck that any jungler can shut down if they choose, and her poke lacks sticking power on the people she needs it to stick on to (melee mids). She also used to hit 40% CDR at two items, and losing that really hit her ability to carry those midgame fights from a level position. That being said, her existence remains a big reason a lot of champs don't go mid anymore, and if you have a jungler to coordinate with and you build a lead you can still have some really impressive games on her.

nice game. orianna is definitely a champ who might need some changes especially the passive. the passive just feels useless, not azir passive level useless but still useless. anyways, day 2 of asking for lee sin mid

i think it's really her Q's reduced damage on passthrough that needs to be removed. That was from a time when wave control wasn't a mechanic riot knew about or balanced the game around, and orianna, who is very good at it, was considered a lane bully who could be first picked and expect to dominate or at least go even in to any matchup. These days, she's considered weak in lane and very vulnerable to jungle pressure. While i do think her base AD or the flat damage from her passive could use a buff - at the start of the game, she actually loses auto trades, because her base AD is only 45 and the passive only adds like 10 damage - the passthrough damage makes her Q useless in any matchup where the opponent takes sustain runes or has a vamp scepter. You can land Q every time it's off cooldown and if the enemy has a vamp scepter they will just sit there and hit the wave and shrug it off while outpushing you without having to play around it.
