It was undeniably my fault for not dodging the second pair of books (karambwan could've saved me). I still think it was an EXTREMELY lazy safespot fix from Jagex. Instead of increasing archaeologists attack range they made it deal true damage (with increased attack range? what the fuck? why not make it deal regular hits which would completely prevent safespotting? this literally makes zero sense what the fucking shit?) WITHOUT ANY ANNOUNCEMENT (good way to 2 hit hcim in 3 ticks btw). However, I already knew about the dangerous attack and tried to avoid it. The only way to avoid it was to not run too far away from the demi boss. It was better to tank books than get hit almost guaranteed 40-50 for running too far away. shitty death tbh

People are blaming him, when Jagex pretty much forces you to do 10 minute trips because of their shitty deaggro timer. Most people(not all) would have died the same way if the archaeologist was in the same spot and did the same combo. Some of the people with better reaction times could've ran before the second hit, or the wiser ones could've just left after they saw its position. Regardless, the J mod who hotfixed this boss should have done more than just set a fucking cap to how far away you can go.

Everything is treated as an object for no reason, meaning it's allocating a ton more memory than your 18 words. Not to mention that, between translating from Java through the JVM into machine instructions, there's a ton more intermediary work. Did they mention there was a hotfix? In my opinion, it is the responsibility of the players to discover mechanics of new updates; Jagex should not document them for every update. If they mentioned there was a hotfix for safe spotting, then I think it is adequate from them. But I get the controversy - a hotfix doesn't always imply that mechanics were changed.
