The members of Kep1er must have some of the most unique backstories in K-pop. Yujin and Yeseo got second chances to be idols. Mashiro and Chaehyun managed to debut after failing to be part of such massive groups like Aespa and Itzy. Xiaoting and Dayeon got to win a survival show after being eliminated in a previous one. Hikaru could crown her dream to be a K-pop idol like CL. Bahiyyih is the third sibling in her family to have become an idol. And Youngeun came out of nowhere from a company no one ever heard about. They really show that even when you think you have lost a huge opportunity, life can still surprise you. For Kep1er it was fate.

correction: dayeon went onto produce 48 as a cnc school trainee. she was supposed to debut under stardium entertainment after produce 48 in early 2020 but it got cancelled, which is why she ended up signing with jellyfish. she technically only spent less than two years in jellyfish if she signed right after her original debut group got cancelled, not 4 years like it said in the video.

i think if i remember correctly before signing with jellyfish she had no company for about a year. during that time she continued to practice dancing at SOPA and with lachica (swf). she joined jellyfish in order to participate in gp999. if she didn’t join gp she probably would have joined sgf with her friends in sopa (either in turns, squid or newkid)

Well, it's hard to believe, but Yeseo has the most experience. She was born to be a star. But she had almost given up. She left Busters and Marbling for a reason that doesn't really need to be addressed again. It's just sad how far certain fans can go. I'm sooooooooo proud of Yujin. Finally she gets the attention she deserves. She is a true angel. Beautiful outside and inside. CUBE should check 5:51. That's how you have to cheer for your artists! I don't see anyone in the group lacking. There is certainly potential for improvement here and there, but overall everything seems coherent.

So a few things: 1. Chaehyun was #1, but NOWHERE was it confirmed she would be center. Yes, all previous Produce seasons had #1 as center, but GP 999 did not. Even in their debut showcase, the members themselves said that they have no fixed positions, other than the two leaders (Yujin/Mashiro). 2. The Fu Yaning (FYN) clip in the beginning was already confirmed to be one of the heavily staged segments of MNet. FYN had confirmed in an interview that the edit was inaccurate, and that the actual environment when she had said "but you don't" (despite being forced to) was much, much more lighthearted than how that seemed. Yujin and FYN were friendly until the end (one of the last people that Yujin talked to, on air after the last episode, was FYN). 3. Xiaoting (SXT) going from 1 -> 9 isn't a shock. The vote going to a 1-pick essentially favored all Korean votes, who at the time, were heavily voting for Korean trainees. What is a shock, was just FOUR days prior to the finale, SXT was in 16th. It took an amazing effort to get her even all the way up to that point in 9th.

Dayeon was actually in a different company during produce 48 and joined jellyfish after being there probably 1-2 years. Bahiyyih didn’t technically grow in popularity but the method of voting changed in her favor.

For some who didnt watch the show, instead of calculating the overall votes given by all fans, the show used points instead. This is so that the korean voters and international voters have different vote values. 50/50 was the split respectively but if you would calculate the value of each vote, korean votes obviously had more value than international ones. That is why for the ones who watched the show, this was not really the lineup we thought would debut. But nonetheless congrats to the group for debuting! and XiaoTing you will always be my fave center 😍

Correct. It also didn't help that the voting had to be live for the final episode and it was aired in the middle of the night for many international viewers. As much as I liked the show, I actually have a life and have to sleep during the night.

Busters didn't really disband luckily :) When yeseo and the other only original members left ,their company decided call them Busters beta. The current busters exists of Takara, Jieun , Minji , Seira and Yunji, they'll redebut in the first quarter of 2022 since it got delayed due to a member leaving a few months ago.

With those singles it's harder for them to be successful on competition shows. The list goes on honestly. CLC was basically neglected and overlooked in place of G-Idle. I'm not faulting G-Idle at all but Cube did nothing to foster CLC's success, the fact that Sorn had to pay multiple times out of her own pocket to promote CLC internationally is enough.

as a beotchu (busters fan) for years now who had always biased yeseo, i cant express how proud and happy i am that yeseo debuted. shes so talented and im glad that the world is getting to see that. she deserves every little bit of support that she is getting, and i cant wait to see what the future holds for her!

Dayeon started of as an actress at the age of three appearing in dramas like famous princesses and my wife got married. She also did some modeling and cfs while she was little. At the age of 14 Dayeon joined cnc entertainment and trained there for about 8 months before joining produce 48. She ended up being eliminated at rank 70. In dec 2018 she joined stardium entertainment which she trained in for about 2 years. She together with a group of other girls were planned to make their debut in 2020(?) but it was cancelled last minute because of economical issues and dayeon left the company. After she left stardium she didn’t join another company for about a year. During that time she practiced dance at SOPA and as a student of lachica’s rian (and gabee too i think). When the news of gp999 were out Dayeon took it as her last chance to become an idol and quickly signed with jellyfish before joining the show. Most likely if she wouldn’t have debuted via gp she would have joined her SOPA friends as a dancer in sgf (as a member of either turns, squid or newkid). I don’t know if all of this is correct but this is what I remember.

I am so proud of Youngeun. She was my top pick the moment I saw her perform Kick It and although she didn't have any previous exposure and came from a nonexistent company, Youngeun and her fans worked extremely hard to get her to debut. I remember spending my entire weekends collecting klaps on the Universe app so she could get more exposure in Korea and having 15 accounts to vote. I'm just glad that I can say it was worth it.
