I mean that seems to be Everything these days. I really appreciate you posting this - I'm in the same boat, especially as a new dad. Being fortunate and actually having paternity leave has really shown me that I loathe my day job, I just have this overwhelming feeling of how meaningless it is. I really enjoy working in Blender and know that I can make it my full time gig so that not only do I have more time with my family, but, when I am working, I actually enjoy it. I've been taking some cues from your videos already, especially around sound design, and really look forward to learning more. I don’t make money directly from working in Blender, but I’ve been able to find ways to incorporate it into my work to increase the value of the product itself. My brother and I own and operate a recording company that handles anything from record albums, commercial jingles, voice overs, podcasts, etc. Right now we are hosting and producing a podcast for a client (which debuts tomorrow and we’re super excited [❗️]), and part of what we are doing is creating highlight clips to go on social media, and I’ve been using Blender to create audio visualizers for the posts using geometry nodes. It’s been very cool to be able to implement my growing love and passion for Blender into my main work field, when at first I couldn’t see how I could possibly use a 3D Modeling/VFX program in conjunction with all the audio work I do. In the future, I’m hoping to expand it to be able to do VFX in music videos for clients, to really elevate what we’re able to offer in the cool space that we have. I’m definitely not there yet, but even simple background replacement would open up a whole world of possibilities.

Beginner artists will get to the point where they here/learn... never do anything for free. I don't have much experience, but the return of "visibility" rarely turns into anything viable. I did freelance web design for a short time. Learning how to "freelance" is a big curve in itself. I'd love to hear your take on selling digital assets, but I agree teaching is the #1 way to make money. Getting views and building viewership is the challenge.

If that doesn't work, there's still websites like Upwork or Fiverr where you have almost infinite possibilities, but on the flipside also infinite competition from other artists. Your music choice is always spot on (like when you’re showing the graph of income for KZbin - that was the perfect song choice haha). Also you incorporate memes in a way that adds to the video rather than simply utilizing a meme for meme’s sake and making a video more exasperating than anything. ok but these skills are undervalued in the market anyway. Not only you are a 3d artist, you are a content creator! quite a lot of skills for one person! 2-3 k$/month is really low bro congrats for your achievements anyway :)
