Yep; fishing in the heat of summer is TOUGH ! So, I always try to get to my fishing spot near a pass before sun up, armed with my favorite Spooks, Paddletails, and Shrimp lures, and of course, lots of Procure on everything ! Looking forward to the Dr Juice spray bottles getting restocked into the SaltStrong Store.

so i just fished the Elite Redfish Series in texas and fished Christmas bay. Friday I prefished and caught a 20 and 25.5 inch on a point. next day no wi d and very small tide change i hooked and missed 1 about midday and that was all. but you cant use live bait.

When using cut bait, how do you approach when crabs are getting after your bait and will the reds scare off a crab when it's on your bait ? Do you move your bait hoping a red will beat the crabs to your bait ?

I put a pompano float on my baits sometimes and that helps when crabs get on my baits.

most big redfish tournwys dont allow live bait so that can be irrelevant
