if the aim9M is launched inside 1.50KM u cant really dodge it, RWR does not tell when a IR missile is shot at you, you dont need to turn of your afterburner when dodging aim9M because the IRCCM works by turning the missile seeker OFF when it detects flares, effective way to dodge the aim9M: turn slightly to right/left, drop flares, hard turn in the opposite direction!

Thanks man i suck at dodging these. I've never had any issue dodging FOV gating IRCCM like magic 2 and r73 but aim9m is pain in the ass. I understand the basic concept of how to dodge them but never actually pull it off.

you need a sixth sense as good as sherlock holmes so you can pre flare it

stay fast and avoid contact, usually in ground RB your RWR can tell if its an F16, just turn ur radar off and try to fly away or spot him, second method is to fly toward the enemy but dodge a headon while dropping flares

this person has no idea what they are talking about. watch your RWR.... for a IR missile? "turn hard" the missile out turns all jets, turn hard with after burner off and flares it still tracks this is not a 9L this man speaks of dodging a 9M but never a had to dodge one, dont watch this go watch defyns video (even defyns video shows some problems, the only way of dodging that missile is by dumping 10 pops of flares and doing maneuvers with full real controls, which is to say the least, not really that easy in a jet like the mig29 with 60 flares and with normal controls)

@@pepsitrip4643you do know that the AIM-9M isn’t the fastest pulling missile right? Literally both R27’s and R73’s pull harder than it by 5G and 10G respectively. A subpar implemented ICCRM doesn’t make up for an extra 5-10G…
