Randy I love the idea of taking a big creek and just fishing that all day. I have been using that strategy since I’m in a kayak and it’s been working great. Thank you!

That is the beauty of kayak fishing- you really invest a lot in your first decision- that is where to launch (in most tournaments). I usually fish top, middle and bottom of the water column in any given area. If the textbook spots don't even get a bite, it tells me that I am pretty far off the pattern/area wheere the fish are biting. Moving to another spot is reasnable with modern kayaks- but it isn't typically to the far end of the lake.
@FullTimeFishing3 жыл бұрын
@Cuivre for sure! I always have about 8 or 9 rods rigged up for all different water columns. And when you find that area you really have to slow down.

Great advice. Biggest improvement in my fishing this year has been in not forcing my areas or techniques. I give something 30 minutes, if it's not happening I do something different.

Bingo Randy! I fished a spot yesterday, got 2 immediate hits on the jerk bait and then spent the next hour not getting another bite on it. I was stubborn and stayed in that spot. I finally channeled my inner Intuitive Angling video knowledge and I moved. Tried hopping something on the bottom, no dice. Finally, I dragged a TRD across the bottom and the light went on. Lots of bites. Thanks for the baitfish tip. If I don't see bait swimming beneath my feet or in my area (hip boots/bank), I'll know to fish out deeper!

Always love the sincerity you deliver with. I’m just a bit lost on…changing colors/baits/retieve vs there’s NO fish here…move on. I guess it’s a matter of know the likely spots based on the conditions…and go from there.

Often times I drag a Carolina rig over main lake structure, especially rock, with a zoom lizard in green pumpkin. Paying close attention to the depth when I start getting bites. I like to get a long drift going and boat drag my bait. I hope you do well. Rooting for you!

I would hope to eliminate water sooner rather than later. Just need that one clue that one bite that can lead you to an awesome, effective day... and with all the experience you gained through the years of fishing, usually can choose a bait for time of year, water clarity, water depth, and part of the lake that is most likely to have the fish... but sometimes this takes some time to put the puzzle together....!! Good luck

I thought I was the only person going fishing and getting skunked.....he did say he hadn't caught a keeper so I guess that's not a skunk. I get the "Change the technique" "change the color" "Change the area" but what if it's a high pressure time of the day and they just aren't feeding, no matter what? I'm curious as to what your thoughts are on barometric pressure affecting fish feeding/activity Randy, idea for another video ;-).... maybe you need to go "weeny worming".... that ck at the end of the tournament doesn't care how big your worm is.

On my tough days NOTHING works better for me than a ZMan Finesse TRD. Cast out, drag 6-12" and give it a little shake. If they're just a tad more active, drag and a little hop. Hope it helps.

@glenncivale68243 жыл бұрын
The age old question- Are there fish here and just not biting? or, am I fishing for nothing. You can't rely on a visual presence of bait. Sometimes they are down or suspended. If bait is there, game fish will also be there most of the time. Here's where the graces of technology come in to play. This year with my new livescope I can eliminate most bad water by scanning for bait and gamefish. It is a no brainer. Side scan works just as good but takes longer using the big motor to look around. What do you do when all the ingredients are present and you re still not getting bit? Recognize the bite window,s. All too often the whole lake or regional area bite is just shut down for whatever reasons. Then, like majic, a bite will come alive lakewide at a particular time- usually in the afternoon after the wind has picked up etc. Some times of the year they are just feeding at night. Especially in clear water. Sometimes I just find the dirtiest water available and, just start sluggin!

I compare it to the slot machines at a casino. They turn on and then go cold. Same with bass.

If it took you three days to find a keeper, that’s not a “quick” method to find bass…
