This is How to See Hawaii! - Pilot VLOG 085

This is the first flight VLOG we've done in something other than the Gulfstream. One of our subscribers offered to take us flying in a Diamond DA-40 around the Oahu and Molokai area. We saw some of the most beautiful parts of Hawaii that most people never get the chance to see!

@@cigman2000 GODBLESS you ill pray for you . I took care of Dad and mom for 4 years but dad pased april 17 at 92 and now its just mom but she has gotten so much worse. I know how hard it is, most people can't understand and I will pray for you !!

Very cool. I'm now 67 and have never lost my love of flying since my first flight when I was about 8. No, I was never a pilot (every time I started something came up that precluded finishing), but the love is always there. I have always been able to fly with someone, for which I am eternally grateful!

Thanks for the memories, Sean. During my time with the US Air Force in Hawaii, I was assigned to a flying squadron that flew HH-53 Helicopters (air/sea rescue and other things) and 3 different variants of C-130 aircraft. I used to go along on training flights with the HH-53 guys. That scenery is amazing and I can't believe I used to get paid to see this almost everyday. Keep up the good work, I'm going to try and find time to watch the Fiji video later tonight.

I loved this! Hawaii is amazing, I was fortunate to be stationed on Oahu for three years in the military. I miss the islands and this low level flight was spectacular!

Great video and definitely something different. Taking time to connect with your viewers, is what sets you apart from so many others. And what a cool gesture by Hunter to take you (and us) on a tour. That G-IV emergency landing on Tuesday 8-21 must have been a real white knuckle landing. I was happy not to see n269wr on the fuselage when I first saw footage of the jet at Stewart. I was surprised they did not go into Barnes seeing how Gulfstream has a facility there.

What a way to see the scenery! In a small craft that has excellent visibility, just wish you had a sunny day, without that chop at the nose, as a female pilot friend did that area on a sunny day, and it just shows the beauty even more. But a very cool trip, and how good a channel watcher was able to take you up like that..good job all!

Father Damiaan is family from me. His real name is in fact van der Vorst but when the maid went to the city Hall, (in that period the maid was sometimes sent to the town hall to register a birth), she said in the dialect. "A baby was born at de Veuster". Instead of van der Vorst. He is in our family genealogy.

When I lived in Hawaii, I took a couple of "flight lessons" that doubled as sight seeing - We once went all the way to Kona. It was a great way to get a flying fix and see the islands! Fun fact: The Na Pali (clifts) on Molokai were formed when northern shield flank of the East Molokai Volcano slid into the ocean!

Thanks Sean. I've been to the other 49 states and now I've filled the Hawaii square. I saved some bucks and I don't have to walk through the Honolulu terminal listening to the locals badmouthing the Howlies in their native tongue thinking that no one understands them. Good flights!

I was a CFI and later on a air ambulance pilot based out of HNL and I remember hearing from the Honolulu FSDO the class B airspace had more violations, including runway incursions than any other airport. Not sure it was true, but it definitely keep me alert with heavy mix of GA, helicopters , MIL and 121 ops.. We did all our air work over the north shore. Good times

Are you using a stabilized cam mount of some kind? I notice that some shots are shakey and others aren't, all of my GA footage is generally shakey though so just wondering what you were using?

I am, but either the stabilization wasn't on for one of the cameras or it wasn't working very well.

Last time I was in Hawaii, a friend of mine and I went up in a couple of gliders. We took pictures of each other while flying as close to each other as possible, was great fun till the ceiling started dropping ruined everything.
