Hi my name is Lilly and I am an American expat living on the island of Koh Samui in the gulf of Thailand for the last 9 years. My husband is Thai and his name is Wat. We have two boys-Luke and Leon plus and a new baby girl named Lyla. Nam is our nanny and she is from Myanmar. Nam has worked for us for nearly 7 years. She was the chef at our restaurant before we closed due to covid.

I agree, that's one of the reasons my husband and I agreed to have our daughter sleep in the same room with us because we were protecting her. We had her at 43 years old, (both my husband and I), so one can understand how we felt being afraid someone was going to take her from her room. She is 12 yrs old now and decided to go to her own room when she was 11 years old. She decided she was ready. We miss it so much.

You appear to have such a beautiful family dynamic. Beautiful children and congratulations on newest baby she's gorgeous

Ditto in Australia. In fact I'd say its far more common than people let on. It's somehow, bizarrely considered to be 'failed parenting' or some other crackpot idea, so people often don't mention it. I loved those nights with those tiny sleepy heads. Or I'd call out in the early morning when I could hear them awake "HUGGY TIME!" and they'd charge into our room, dive in and snuggle down until the alarm went off. I missed that when they grew up!

If she slept like this in the United States people would call Child Protective Services on them. I am not kidding you. I think it is beautiful that other countries are like that. I think its nice to have everyone together. I’m from US the state of Illinois.I’m a grandma now, but my first were twins and it was so easy for me to have the children in the same room as us parents sleeping with all the nursing times. So the children were in the same room and often same bed depending on nursing needs. It was helpful for my husband to pick one child up put him close to me for feedings. They were in the same room with us until the age of 2, because that’s what worked best for us. Also our bed was always open for a child that might get frightened in the night, sick or just needed special attention. I think it’s a wonderful thing, it builds a stronger sense of comfort and security. I applaud you👏🏽. Make sure you get rest, a good aid in producing quality milk is 1. Rest when the baby rest! 2. Drink water every time you nurse. 3. Nuts have a hand full throughout the day, rich in protein easy to store and freshness. Beautiful family, Gods blessings to you and your family 😘💐

You are living your life on your own terms. That’s what life should be. I am a grandmother and when our kids were babies they slept with us. We always had a family bed till they were comfortable on their own. My children have done the same with their children. For us we believe it gave our babies a secure feeling. Much Love and Prayers for your beautiful family. Saying Hi from S.E. Florida, U.S.A. ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼

That’s exactly how we 7 of us slept together in a normal size bedroom. I remember my mum,dad n 3 years old youngest brother slept on a normal double size bed and me with my 4 sisters slept on the wooden floor with the sleeping mat.Although we were not rich but we had happy family’s life together. And it would definitely be beneficial to the kids if they are bilingual. Being fluent in both Thai and English because of how connected the world is these days. And they will help to bridge both countries and also be respected by both cultures. It's just really good for kids to start learning languages when their kids. Lyla will bring so much balance to the boys. She will be so beautiful as mix children are. They will have great futures in the States or Thailand being mix and bilingual. God bless you guys and your love story and how life has grown tremendously.

Being bilingual isn't a benefit in the US in most scenarios. We speak English here and nothing is written in Thai. Speaking English is all you will really need here tbh. Maybe Spanish would be a better option for you if you are planning to live in the US. Best wishes and be blessed. The video was cute. ❤️

@@Captain_Clark_CDoryAdventures you're not paying attention... Her children are half Thai & American. 😅 It beneficial to know both English & Thai, right?👏 They live in Thailand, they have relatives in America, not in Mexico or a Spanish speaking country etc...🧐 Her children can better communicate with their own grandparents, Thai relatives and other Thai speaking people. Isn't that more beneficial and rational? 🙄 What if they open a business in Thailand,,, won't speaking Thai benefit them? Think about it. I think you're throwing too much of your own irrationality into this. And in America, there are Thais here too. There's a ThaiTown in California and small communities spread out the world. Speaking English and Thai will be of a huge benefit. How would they feel if they are half Thai but can't speak or communicate with their own countrymen? They'll be look down upon, right? That's like someone is half Mexican and American but can't understand Spanish... That's somewhat of a disgrace, don't you think? They can communicate to others in Thai about their own parent's history of "How I met your mother". ☺️ Being mixed in Thai is a blessing and a benefit, especially if they can make deals in businesses, work in many sectors and simply, it's their nationality. Blessings to them 🙏

@@sivasatchidananda3989 I was paying attention and thank you for your reply. I can 100% see you point regarding living in Thailand.... Speaking with family.... Opening a business in Thailand etc. I was referring to living in the US not Thailand. Is it possible you were the one not paying attention? I didn't mean any disrespect to you and I certainly hope that my views did not offend you. So other than living in the particular area in Cali where Thai is prominent, it will not be a great asset to them in the US. I do see your point about speaking the native language within the family though. It saddens me to know people from Thailand "look down" (your words) on others who do not speak the native language. You just taught me an aspect I had not considered, and for that, I thank you. Again I was just expressing my views and trying to be helpful. I am sorry you do not understand my position. We will just have to agree to disagree on this one. I hope you have a nice day and thanks again for your kind response. You definitely taught me a few things regarding people from Thailand. Be blessed always Siva and greetings from the US. ❤️
