Skillful drivers handle the challenge by careful STEERING and power CONTROL, positioning their small boats intelligently in the swell. Pure overpowering and high speed is spectacular and fun to watch, and some of these monster boats are beautiful. In the Pacific Islands, we face regularly waves of 3 to 4 METERS and treacherous currents in narrow passes with rather cheap and ordinary vessels.

Never ever kayak that close to inlets and rough waters. Unless you are a very athletically fit person and use to that sort of rough water. Never try to enter a kayak near rocks or get near rocks with a fiberglass kayak or any other kayak. The guy with the BAD boat , that little dog , is gonna go for a swim one day , and they are going to be 10 miles away from the pup before they even notice it.
