Played this recently cause it was free on PSN n probably one of the most fun racing games I've played in awhile; I loved the card spreads n it wasn't like you couldn't buy upgrades if needed. Only difficult parts were the off road races; was almost always under-leveled, except for the off-road races, n still breezed through Secondly, he complains about not understanding drifting yet it's a concept that's literally explained to kids in the movie Cars lmao

Well, to be honest, some older need for speed games (Underground 1&2, most wanted and carbon) didn't really require you to upgrade your car much. Upgrades barely mattered due to heavy rubberbanding, and the AIs having their cars set to match your car's performance. Now here comes the game where car performance actually matters (and that's how it should be - it's like that in real life too) and this scrub complains, twisting it around that game devs want you to spend real money to upgrade your cars. Says I'm not spending 200k on a lambo, while having like 500k.. I mean, if it's not meant to be used for buying cars, then what on earth is he saving that for?

Yeah, MW is beatable even with your starter car.. I think someone did it with the Cobalt from start to finish. I remember I was so used to those nfs games, that when I played Gran Turismo, I was left speechless when I saw that cars in challenges have preset performance. So if you go in with an underpowered car, you may end up not being able to catch up to the leader, or just manage to keep them just barely out of your reach due to their car having superior performance. Then you go back, install a couple of parts, tune it up a little. start the event again.. and all of a sudden, your car is smoking everyone, and you can almost dance around the leader - he can no longer generate that gap. It felt so satisfying, and you could literally *FEEL* how much more powerful your car got. That's something I was barely able to notice in those nfs games since most of the time, they catch up to you no matter how well you try to drive, making you start questioning your own driving style and end up changing it, and driving worse. That is just horrible. Those games literally punished you for driving good, and rewarded you for driving badly (Ai would slow down to allow you to catch up and overtake them).

Also love when he whines about the car fishtailing... says cars can only fishtail at higher speeds... ah philly boy, cars (especially high-powered ones) can be a nightmare to start moving from a standstill, especially if you need to steer also, something formula drivers have to overcome after they spin out in a crash and want to rejoin the track, they really need to caress that throttle until the tires grip the road before they can nail it down. If the car's fishtailing too much, then how about you ease up on that throttle a little and not slam it down like a scrub. He did the exact same thing in Driver: San Francisco with Pagani Zonda, just slamming that gas pedal and wondering why is the car fishtailing so much. Slower but stable and error-free racing >>> Going flat-out on the gas pedal like an idiot, thinking races are won on who holds down the gas pedal the longest.

No... Phil, loot boxes make the game worse because their existence necessitates the devs tweak the progression to be much slower without the loot boxes in order to incentivize the lootbox's purchase. Shadow of war was a good game but the end game was totally destroyed by lootboxes for most people. That Audi Maxes at 299, it's part him and part that the car is too slow. He really needs to build up or buy a derelict at the Runner Shop. The Chevy C-10 is probably the Best Runner in the Game, it's heavy to begin with, being a Truck. Fully Upgraded to 399, including Chasis Re-enforcement from Live Tuning - (Middle Slider), it's nearly unstoppable. It pushes the Cops/Civies out of the way with ease, even the Impact from Rhinos is reduced.

Alright. Challenge accepted. As a racing game newbie, I wondered if I could play better than DSP. Parameters: from game start to roll credits, how long does it take and how many black-screen crashes, failed missions, and restarts. Driving experience: GTA San Andreas, IV, V, the original Rad Racer, and many seasons of watching Canada's Worst Driver. Licensed driver of many years with no accidents. Status, as of completing "The Highway Heist (23% missions completed, 13% overall): Time: 5H 37M Crashes: 18 Fails: 23 Restarts: 5 Will update with more results.

So. Just finished "Double or nothing" - steal two gold plated cars mission, which should bring me up to the end of the first vid. Current stats: Crash: 83 Mission failed: 74 Restarts: 11 Total play time: 18h 48m 37s That looks better than DSP thus far (if you lump mission failed and restarts into a single score). I honestly thought I'd make it through with single digit restarts but one mission (Gallo's 2nd to last one) REALLY ground my gears. Things like easy to miss check points and consecutive black screen crashes, ugh. A good number of those restarts and crashes come from challenging Roaming Racers. At least 3 times I lost because i started rammed into a telephone pole while the opponent was already in motion. All in all, I'm having fun and definitely taking advantage of not being on stream so I can explore and do side activities.

And just finished the game! I had fun, though I have to admit at times I was rather frustrated with races and events. A few last second losses... That race that DSP took 90 minutes to pass? Holy hell, that's an extremely unforgiving course. I only failed it about 5 times so it took me about 25 minutes, but that level does NOT play around. No barriers on cliffs, easy to miss checkpoints, I had to fight for every inch of my lead. It helps that it has laps so you get more practice but still, not easy! Alright. Game stats. Compared to DSP's 1D 6H 6M, I completed the game in 1D 3H 32M (including exploring and side content) Compared to DSP's 244 crashes, I black-screen crashed 206 Compared to DSP's 64 Missions Failed, I had 111 Compared to DSP's 209 restarts I had 25 Compared to DSP's 5 quits, I had 1 (exited the Outlaw's Rush to tune my offroad car) Compared to DSP's 10 slams, I had 0 Compared to DSP's 293 Game/Dev sucks comments, I had 0. Compared to DSP's Rank 32, I completed it as Rank 42. Compared to DSP's 0 completed side bets, I completed 16. Can't say how much he earned, but I got a total of $4,029,750. Oh, not a perfect game, but had no reason to specifically complain about it. Sure, I failed more missions than he did, but overall had fewer mission attempts than he did. I would play out a course to learn it and practice and, sometimes, I'd even rise the Phoenix and win a race I was certain I'd lost. I never needed to grind. it always seemed that I had just enough money and/or skill to keep progressing with the current missions. I ended up cheating a bit in locating the Derelict cars (couldn't figure out the map clues) and made those my primary vehicles. Outside of the two cars selected at the beginning of the game, I never bought a car. I don't think I ever ran a race under-leveled, but could be mistaken. Some missions that DSP struggled with (such as the junk-in-the-road one) i completed first try, while at least once he outperformed me (he beat Lina on his first attempt, it took me about 7/8 tries). I definitely had more fun that he did and suspect that I did more extracurricular activities like the Roaming Racers than he did. All in all I had fun and plan on spending more time in the game.

@@amyallen6863 Yeah, Heat was fun. I started trying to track my stats in case Phil ever picked it up but it just didn't lend itself to counting crashes. I swear I STILL have "Tu Manera" rattling around my head. The nighttime chases were intense though.

i mean.. hes right... there literally is never anything he can do about being this woeful at gaming. his skill level truly is maxed out at a level where 'nothing i could do' is a legitimate statement from him whenever he runs into any moderate amount of difficulty or sequences that demand a normal level of coordination. So please.. at least respect his ability to admit that theres nothing he can do when games require a normal level of skill from the player, rather than mocking him for it.
