I've wanted a leverless controller to mess around with for a while. Kept my eye on the cheaper 3d printed controllers for about a hundred dollars, but they were always backlogged and not available. Had my eye on this one since they announced it and decided to just buy it a few days before release. It shipped immediately and showed up at my place on time a few days later. I cannot stress how just being able to actually buy it is a huge thing. As for the controller itself, it is my first arcade style controller I've really tried to use. I play a lot of games on PC so the movement buttons have been easier for me to use than the actual action buttons. I keep not using the buttons that my fingers aren't on naturally.

No need for a leverless for that all. Which modern games don't let you do regardless with the SOCD cleaning.

As I understand it the HITBOX is still one of the only ways to get proper grown up arcade buttons in a leverless right? So if anything it’s better than all these knockoff low profile mechanical keyboard switch models. Plus the fact that the case has actual weight. They don’t need to “step their game up”, they need to reduce their margins to compete with all the AliExpress-tier junk. They’re charging way too much for 12 SANWA buttons and no lever.

It has the same problem as HitBox and most/all of the other all button controllers; you are supposed to place the your hands on the controller in a straight angle from the front edge. That forces me, and I guess some others as well, to twist/bend my wrists (I can see some of that in the video above), not comfortable neither in the long nor the short run. It’s as if all these controllers are made by children for other children, or extremely narrow shouldered adults. I would very much prefer if the buttons were placed in a layout with the left hand buttons tilted more out to the left side of the controller, and the right hand buttons tilted more out to the right side, imagine a V (left leg is left side buttons, right leg is right side buttons).

I have the Kitsune and I do enjoy it quite a lot. Yeah, no SOCD options does sting a bit, but it's per Razer's partnership with Capcom for this thing according to the site. At the same time though, they did say the word "currently," which could imply that they may add some SOCD options down the line if they're just under some kind of time limit they need to wait through. Also, for those wondering, it is hot-swappable. Razer did say you can use other low-profile optical switches, like the ones from Keychron. They did specifically say the linear kind, though, so I personally can't say if the clicky or tacticle ones would work. I've not seen people say anything on this at the moment.

I'm a newbie when it comes to fighting games, but I noticed none of these arcade sticks/leverless controllers have Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz wireless functionality, which I think is a shame. I'd really love for stick makers to start putting wireless functionality in their controllers, why exactly is this not the standard in 2023? I get that these controllers cater to the hardcore players who will always use wired anyway, but a wireless option would be amazing. I don't even think there's a video game controller worth more than 40 dollars coming out without wireless functionality nowadays, but expensive arcade sticks/leverless controllers worth hundreds of dollars don't have them? It's fine to even add a little bit of input lag but give us the choice. Would love to hear from anyone who knows of a leverless that can run wirelessly.
@RackSimons
@RackSimons Жыл бұрын
you ansered your question already. These companies cater to the hardcore, and the hardcore hate nothing more than input lag. From what I heard, a lot of these controllers can cause a lot of interference for the signal. They generally have a bunch of metal and pretty thick edges. I don't think I've seen anyone else than brooks and 8bitdo really even try a wireless option for the arcade stick. But from what I understand and have read about padhacks etc the chassis of the controller can be a bit of an obstacle. Then there's the tournament angle and the "hardcore" nature of the sticks so it might be difficult to justify a feature not that many would actually go for if it made the thing cost even more than it already does. If you want a wireless leverless controller you'll probably need to DIY or order custom from somewhere for now. Though I'm happy of I'm proven wrong.

Disappointing for $300, I bought one of AliXpress for $60, and the buttons light up with multiple patterns, as does the board. It also comes with various SOCD modes and is compatible with all current consoles and PCs. Don't get me wrong, I love Razer products and own many of them, but this one is a pass for me. Maybe wait for Kitsune V2.

I don't think that's a fair comparison since the series S was specifically made to be a low end/cheap option for the XBOX consoles. But... I do think that knocking off $100 would make the price actually reasonable.

The buttons in this are like $20 of parts maximum, the switches another $15, the PCB being PS5/PC only won't be expensive (even the Brook board that supports Switch/PS4/PS3/PS5/Xbox Series/Xbox One/Xbox 360/PS5 is only like $135) @@smoothsavage2870 The markup is truly insane, as it costs even more than the Snackbox which is at least custom made by a small USA team.

@DriveCancelDC
@DriveCancelDC Жыл бұрын
@@lowercvse People adding additional buttons for fringe benefits doesn't mean it's more than a 6 button game. All you need to play is 6 buttons, every function is mapped to them. Also CPT ruling doesn't allow the same function mapped to multiple buttons, so having extra jump buttons isn't allowed anymore. It's in the the 4.2.1 section of the CPT rules. I don't think there's much benefit to anything more than 7 (DI button is important). It's mostly preference/ergonomic value.

Why does down have to be moved to the thumb area in the first place. WASD would be more comfortable if it was made out of little round buttons when it comes to fighters.
@NihongoGamer
@NihongoGamer Жыл бұрын
Good question but I’ve explained in previous videos already. WASD is good for some things, but generally the middle finger has to do double duty which makes some moves harder and makes various shortcuts very hard if not impossible
@JELIFISH19
@JELIFISH19 Жыл бұрын
Up is the button on the bottom. Down is in the middle. WASD isn't used because you don't have a finger for each button. The jump button is bigger and on the bottom so you can use both thumbs. It makes certain things like instant-air moves and jump cancels easier.
