I did my beds about 4 years ago with logs and wood and stuff in the bottom and then dirt on top works great had a problem one year when I put compost in it with a bunch of baby slugs that was the first year and then I didn't put any compost in it and got rid of all the slugs that year so I stopped putting compost in my garden because I don't work my compost properly so another year I took all the stuff out of the chicken coop through it in my one garden bed and let the chickens in there they stirred it all up and did their job but that after that winter I planted my kale in that bed and dang it the crab grass that come up through killed all my kale just that one bed because that's the only bed I put the chicken coop stuff in and that was HAY So from now on the only thing that goes in my garden bed is my chicken coop stuff that I only use wood chips in no more hey don't want other people's weeds is wherever you get to hay from you get their weeds from if you don't work your compost properly and let it get up to heat and kill everything so now all that I use is rabbit poop chicken poop turkey poop and pee and I'm not going to say who's pee and I've got beautiful garden beds yeah there's lots of weeds but not weeds from other places and yeah you have to pull the weeds out we have lots of weeds very hard work to keep a garden up a lot of time

Yes it is!!! We just didn’t have the time we needed…. Other things took priority.

Is it possible to lift the box off with the tractor then you can use the tractor to move the dirt instead of shoveling?

That’s something you’ll see in the next video 😊. But to still preserve the rocks, will it work?

I’m so glad you showed an honest view of the garden. I actually lost a little hope in my own front yard garden this evening. It’s hot, it’s dry, all my plants and flowers are stressed, and it stresses me. I was ready to quit completely. And then I watched your video- You are absolutely correct in telling us that it’s time to re-work the garden. It’s ok to make changes and re-work the original plan. I’m having to make some changes myself, even though I would rather have my original dream come true. But whatever happens, I’ll make it pretty, be it large or small. Thank you for showing us how not to give up completely. Love your channel!❤️

Hi Nick a Zoe Eh, farm life is Beautiful but the Challenges add Strength of Character, as you get the Rubbish Cleared, it lets more light shine on your path towards your Vision. Zoe Eh if you take the side off the planter boxes, you should be able to get in and scoop out the dirt with the bucket on the front of the John Deer. Instead of shoving it all out. 😊👍👍👍

Haha. Mr Richard, you trying to give away my next video. 😂. Actually had several with this same question and it’s a good one. The small square boxes are staying intact. We’re trying to preserve as much rock as possible, but we think we may have a solution for that.

It's virtually quiet! So cool. You might need to put a wall in front of the flowers.

I totally understand. My front "lawn" never looked good and took way too much water. I threw clover out in it and let the clover grow and bloom, let the sunflowers stay in the "lawn," let the holly hocks stay too. It looks wild but I love it. I can kind of mow to keep the grass down. I don't have the love for gardening like many do but I try to keep it interesting. It's good to know using the wood didn't work and it was a problem.

Oh, Zoe, you are not alone! Don’t be embarrassed! We all get overwhelmed at times. While parts of my garden are what I want, other areas have weeds that are over my head! I had such visions of beautiful flower beads around the house and I ended up with a batch of bad seeds and and like 6 scrawny zinnia plants out of the hundreds I planted and they still haven’t bloomed. Sometimes we just have to regroup and make a new plan!❤️

Good and impressive job for Nick cutting the low branches and for Zoe tackling the cleanup of the potege garden. You both are hard working. The goats put themselves up, haha, too cute. The cows knew where to go once you got them out of the woods. Great video.

Great video. Love to see more of what y’all do. Just a thought. Since you are going to take the wood apart would it have been easier to take the frame down and then you could scoop up the dirt with your tractor. I’m tired just watching you. Keep up the good work. Love you guys.

We’ll see in the next video. 😊. These first square ones aren’t going to come apart…. Just be moved. But we also have to preserve our rock bed under them.
