Lucas is a real pro! It is so easy for food show hosts to come across as pretentious or overbearing. He's got this calm natural enthusiasm and the confidence to let his interviewees talk, and give a clear direct and personal narration of the food he's eating. "I can hear it in my back molars, the squeak!".

I just ate at this place the other day, that big mike burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had in my life. This place isn’t cheap tho, the big mike was $13, just the burger alone. That might be fine if you’re alone but this place gets pricey for a family.
@mdem5059
@mdem5059 6 жыл бұрын
Oh, $13? :o I thought Lucas said he bought he's whole feast for $30? Though I guess the burger would be the priciest thing there.
@PozoBlue
@PozoBlue 6 жыл бұрын
but canadian dollars i guess. so 13 would be like 9 Us dollars, i think?
@mdem5059
@mdem5059 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah at $9USD it's not cheap for sure... In Australia I can get a super yummy burger made with fresh items from local fish n chip place for around $6-8 AUD ($4-6 USD)
@joeyodonnell123
@joeyodonnell123 6 жыл бұрын
you make up for it in other places though .. aus is generally quite expensive and usually far pricier then much of canada. it also doesn't mean you can't get cheaper food in canada, or more expensive food in aus !
@mdem5059
@mdem5059 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah you are right, just depends on the area you go to and how popular a place gets, was just throwing out a number that I tend to pay for a burger in my area, but if I were in the CBD paying $12-15 AUD for a burger alone wouldn't be super rare.
@Quietloud
@Quietloud 6 жыл бұрын
I ate at Chez Tousignant, and I appreciate the remix but there's no beating the classic Poutine and Montreal Hot Dog. Try Chez Claudette (My favorite for a poutine and steamie combo) or any Belle Province for those two, and the Montreal Pool Room, and Restaurant AA and Green Spot in St Henri, and la Pataterie in Hochelaga, and even Mont Royal Hot Dog on the Plateau and Décarie Hot Dog in St Laurent, even if they've gotten pricey.

Been living 10 minutes away from this place for over 2 years but never been! Mainly because we never actually plan to eat this kind of food over here, it's something that usually just happens, often when under a certain influence, and typically in the wee hours, when few places are still open. But I'll try to give this place a go some time.
