The Doobie Brothers are an American rock band that have been around for 5 decades. They covered many genres of music over the years. They had so many great songs such as "What A Fool Believes", "Listen To The Music", "Jesus Is Just Alright", "Long Train Runnin'", "China Grove", "Black Water", "Takin' It To The Streets", "The Doctor", "It Keeps You Runnin'", "Echoes Of Love", "You Belong To Me", "Take Me In Your Arms" etc.

@@djdoc06 One thing I love about this song is that it's sympathetic to her point of view, too, like she's feeling awkward but still being polite. And it doesn't blame her for his fixation; it just acknowledges that it's a thing, and it hurts him, and it's no picnic for her either. Really fantastic songwriting!

My Doobie Brothers story. I was in high school (1974) when the DB hit big on the radio. Many stoned rides cranking Black Water on the car FM.. Fast forward almost 30 years and I work for a custom Audio/Video installation company. Previous clients include Gregg Allman (Allman Bros Band), Francis Ford Coppola (film director). So one morning I drive to North Novato (marin county), up to a gated house. It's Tom Johnston's house. We are installing a whole house system. So I'm walking around with tom and his wife, marking speaker locations, wall controls, flat screen placements, etc. I spent many days on site with him. You realize he is just another human, walking his path, and sometimes you get lucky in life and get to meet your rock star legends from your past. Outside, your cool as a cucumber, in charge with your skill sets, but inside your all "Holy cr ap, its the guy from the Doobie Brothers!". Great memories. Peace

This song is frequently my earworm. Love Michael & the Doobies! Heard them first in 1972 on an amazing stereo from a girl in my apartment complex. Also introduced me to Joni Mitchell. Friends for life! 🎶💙🎶💙🎶💙

1970s soulful and groove music coming from the positive and creative virtue of goodness in their hearts. If you lived thru this era and seen these bands play, you know...

This song was actually REMIXED for the discos at the time. Smooth, good bassline and catchy vocals. Yes…….this had HIT written all over it!

There’s also a version with Kenny Loggins and Michael… they totally changed it up and it sounds awesome! It’s on Kenny’s album “Outside: From The Redwoods”, a special that he did. The video is really good too.
