Everglow is probably my #3 kpop group, and I’ve been waiting on their comeback for what feels like a long time. I found Slay to be a return to their sound in a very good way as their last comeback a year and eight months ago was not my favorite - but I find their debut Bon Bon Chocolat one of the best 4th gen gg debuts - it might not be everyone’s taste, subjectively. Everglow has a girl crush concept, and that roughly means that quite a few of their title songs will be about empowering women and full of confidence.

This isn't their debut, that was in 2019 with the song Bon Bon Chocolat. Which is to this day one of the most iconic debut songs I've ever heard. However, Slay is their first comeback after a 20 month long hiatus. I have no idea what the fuck took their company so long but I'm really glad they're finally back. But I have to be honest, Slay left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. Compared to the insane bangers they brought out in the past, this one feels quite tame. Still a good song, just not the standard I'm used to with Everglow. The members: - Sihyeon, born 1999, leader and lead vocalist. The tall vocalist with the bangs. - E:U, born 1998, main rapper and main dancer. The short rapper with the bangs. Stood in that metal tube with the spider webs. - Mia, born 2000, main vocalist and main dancer. The one with the pixy cut. - Onda, born 2000, lead dancer. Silver hair. - Aisha, born 2000, lead rapper. The tall rapper without bangs. She's the one you wanted to hear more from. - Yiren, born 2000, lead dancer, youngest and only foreign member (Chinese). Pink hair. If you want to hear how good Everglow can REALLY be, I got some recommendations: - Bon Bon Chocolat. Iconic debut. The bass will massage your frontal lobes. - Adios. One of the only REAL EDM songs in Kpop. This is proper Big Room House through and through. - LA DI DA. This song absolutely floored me. 80s synthwave glory and to this day still one of my top 10 favourite Kpop songs OF ALL TIME. And I've heard THOUSANDS of Kpop songs. - First. Probably the craziest back to back rap verse from E:U and Aisha.
