When I was heavy in my dope addiction I distanced myself from everyone so that I wouldn't hurt them. It was the fucking lonliest time in my life, and it almost killed me. I'm glad I am here to talk about it and help others, it means a lot to me to be able to stand up and say that I'm still clean after all these years. Its only proper to own up to ur faults or any pain you've caused others. At minimal as a man I'd AT MINIMAL send a personal msg asking to speak in person. For even 2 minutes of tht person I caused pain's time. Accountability is big move n shows something. Talks cheap tho if theres no productive action but thts only MY PERSONAL OPINION. In no way am I saying I'm right or wrong, I just remember while not sober hurting ppl and holding secrets, it always ate at me till I took Accountability to face to face apologize to those I hurt (a couple of which wouldn't gimme time o day) and sux to know I lost 2 solid homies forever but I cant say I blame em. Back to tht gut wrenching feeling of guilt n lies is horrible. I couldnt take causing someone yrs of trauma to the grave, thts a real 100% Loser move..

Always been a fan of you and Swollen Members. Was an extreme alcoholic myself for over 10 years, it's a miracle I'm still alive but have now been sober for over 15 years and am grateful for each day. I listened to your music way back when and am still a fan today while completely sober. You are not alone with addiction struggles and should be proud of how far you've come. Don't beat yourself up or feel bad about what could have been. Many of us have had shattered dreams but you should be very proud of yourself and just keep looking forward. I was just listening to an interview with the Arkells' (another Canadian band) frontman and he was explaining that record companies can't produce hits artificially like they could before covid. Now that TikTok and other quick method of consumption move so quickly, what's new music isn't really new to everyone; a song that's 10 years old could all of sudden be trending on TikTok and the bands and labels have to just have a constant ear out for what's connecting with fans. It's really cool to think that artists now are having their entire body of music generating attention for them instead of feeling like they have to release a new album and tour it. The only people not having fun with this fact is comedians--their older cuts can get them cancelled!

Just seeing this. I’ve enjoyed you for years and I hope you get free from the slavery you’re in. It’s tough, I know. My sister passed away last summer from the years of poisoning herself. It’s not a pretty death when your liver shuts down. The one person I know (husband of a friend) who seems pretty solid in his recovery spent a good year in rehab. I just hope for you that you get peace and freedom for yourself. ❤
