Protect on amoongus the last turn it was alive on the final game. I think it “may” have been winable. Terap was asleep on the fake out turn, amoongus would be alive. Iron hands hits amoongus with fake out, it dies to helmet, also p blades that turn. If iron hands fakes out groudon, then you get a pollen puff off. I think this could’ve happened??

@@Matthew-oz5vs it makes sense lore-wise for it to be able to quell both Groudon and Kyogre (as Rayquaza has the same Attack as Groudon and Sp. Attack as Kyogre), but for competitive use it almost always indeed is a detriment.

Why not just Tera fire Groudon earlier? Heat crash would then OHKO flutter, plus it resists icy wind and moon blast.

Why is the amoonguss not 236 def so it hits the ev bump

Taking two points out of defense into SpDef lets you have a good chance to live glacial lance and pelliper hurricane. You can 100% live lance with 236 bold but then hurricane is actually pretty likely to KO.

@@Connor_Kirkpatrick Now, a sincere question, don't you see that as a bit unfair? the precision thing, it shouldn't be like that... I know it's not 100%, but 85% accuracy is still very high, I think it's really set up so that it misses that much. What do you think?

@@aletorres2891 It’s about matchups. 85% isn’t horrible, but you’re risking losing damage on turns where you NEED to pick up a knockout. Missing once can lose you the game, whereas other spread moves in the meta right now don’t have this issue. Calyrex’s signature moves are fully accurate, Kyogre gets water spout, Torkoal gets eruption, psyspam teams get expanding force, the list goes on. Running Groudon means you’re taking that risk while your opponent isn’t. That isn’t to say he’s completely unviable, since you can also run EQ alongside a flying type or levitate user to fix accuracy at the cost of some power. You could also use something like Gravity to fix the issue. But considering that you don’t need to make accommodations for other mons, they’re easier to slap on a team.

No I get it. Ogerpon and other one time event mons makes it tricky but even other species I get hung up. Often I see a great team but the mon I have trained up of that species is the other attacking type or built for trick room, I sometimes dont have the energy or time to catch a second battle worthy mon and Im not one to rebuild from scratch onve Ive got one trained.
