Ah I needed to read this! I was dating a guy, who insists on paying for everything, and within 4 months was trying to get me to move in, quit my job, sell my car etc. but it just felt too much to me. He was trying too hard for me to do all of that. But tables turned because the first time I pulled him up on bad behaviour, he turned around and asked me “what do you bring to this relationship” and then later down the line threw all the holidays and things he had bought us, thrown in my face. The name thing is really crazy. My ex attempted an attempt once. I wanna say I handled it like a G but sis I cried haha. Lemme tell you why... this boy calls me one day randomly and lets me know that this was a curtesy call. His new GF and him are having a baby and he didn't want me to hear it from social media. Cool. Fair enough. Even though it had been 4 years but ok. Then he proceeds to say: Oh and we just found out we're having a girl and I wanted to give you a heads up that we're gonna name her Michaela. I was shocked, tears, hyperventilating, the whole 9 yards. Michaela is our DECEASED daughters name. Absolutely NOT! I did tell him he can use the name as a middle name if he wanted to (I understood it was a grief related thing but it still hurt). Their baby would have the exact first and surname as our baby. Talk about trying to replace someone. They didn't do it in the end (probably coz I spazzed and called his mum hoping she'd validate my feelings. She did and said she'd talk to him. Low-key I feel bad but tbf the name they went with is so gorgeous and I love that little girl (she's 4 and my son is 2, she's so amazing with him).
