Burst & Bouncing Flask, then Burst+ 2 Catalyst+. Dead Branch had generated another Catalyst from a Shiv and somehow I got poison over 3000 against Maw. Pretty good damage output for a deck with only one Strike for attacks.

Well I killed Transcient on turn two yesterday.

1:50 Watcher struggles because Heart is the only fight in the game where damage is not a block card. Every other fight you can "block" by just destroying enemies before they get a chance to attack. Heart fight is a minimum of four turns, you have to _actually block_ at least one round of attacks.

That's why Heart is such a great boss--it makes you do everything in the game well.

@@art-cs6us i think the comment is more geared towards that more aggro decks cannot survive due to the damage cap on heart. You have to be able to pace aggro on your deck to survive 1-2 rounds of attacks but at the same time end the game prior to or midway into the 2nd or 3rd heart salvos. Watcher is a class that tends to go all in one turn to kill the opponent, so you don’t need to consider disengaging from wrath in your draws. Wallop is a card, but you cannot expect every run to have wallop compatible decks. Nor can wallop be enough when, under wrath conditions, heart hits around 90-120 in first salvo buff whilst wallop can only probably do generously at most half of that optimally without wrath disengage, or skimping on wrath timings just to block the next round of damage.

The best poison feeling is when you get corpse explosion vs Donu and Decca, and take them both out on the same turn, of course you don't need corpse explosion to do so.Great Run as always!

I had a super unique run recently that went infinite with well laid plans, alchemize, and 2 copies of nightmare. I hit nightmare into dolly's mirror super early in act 2 so I was taking huge damage in each fight and healing to full with whatever potions I wanted. The run took like 3 hours.

I'm currently doing well with Burst/Poison deck on Silent. I'm new to the scene by the way so Hello everyone! A Transform start and getting a Strike to turn into Burst. Destroying everything so far (Thank God for 3 P. Wail Plus. XD)

I had a really fun deck yesterday as the watcher (still fairly new to the character. Got A20 on the other three but only on 18 as her) where I got an early study+ and a couple evaluates alongside ONE Pressure points. I generally avoid pressure points but it was so fun to play 13 insights and just cycle a single pressure points all run. I also had draw and scry through third eye, wheel kick+ x2, and cut through fate x2, and like water Needless to say this deck totally lost, but I've never played the watcher like that and it was really fun blocking and drawing for 30 turns

I went snake eye and exhaustion-bodyslam build on ironclad and it did the masacre on aacension 10... Yeah I am still learning. Xd But snake eye + expensive cards actually work 31:30 and I got the same act 2 map on that run. Xd

So, I love your video's. I just have one suggestion; please make some condensed video guides. If I want to learn something in Slay the Spire I should not have to commit an hour and a half. Something more condensed would be amazing.

Why does Silent start with an extra strike/defend? Would they be too good otherwise? It kind of bugs me that taking ‘remove 2 cards’ as a starting bonus gives you the same size deck as any other character before they take their starting bonus.

All classes have minor balancing features like this. Defect and Watcher both have 4x strikes/defends, ironclad has 5x strike, 4x defend and one 2 cost starter, while silent has 5x strikes, 5x defends, and a very useful 0 cost card and very efficient 1 cost block card. It's not really right to say "silent has a bigger starting deck so she's worse" while ignoring the fact that her bonus starter cards are quite efficient. She also doesn't have any more strikes than Ironclad (given that she generally wants to remove strikes and defends aren't as high of a remove priority for her), so she's basically equal to Ironclad in terms of remove tempo, both of which are one tier below watcher and defect. You could argue that ironclad might want to remove defends more though, but the overall point is that there is nuance with the balance, which makes the game not be static and formulaic.

best non-glitch smoke bomb is skipping the first fight in arena event when you have no meta-scaling cards and your relics don't need setup
