@@truecustomrods6937 Very impressive, l built my first rod around 1978 when glassfibre was the main material used, built only for our group lads and friends and soon found out being organised was important but it was never anywhere as good as your workshop.

I am brand new to this hobby right now enjoying everyone's videos. Learning everything I can. I would really enjoy hearing how and why you stared building rods and your progression from then to now.

Love this! I’m the kind of person who has a tendency to just throw things around without much organization and I need to figure out how to get more organized. Lots of good tips in this video! Also, how big is your shop overall? As of right now I’m working out of a 10x13 main area, with things being stored in various areas of my basement, and having the room to organize sometimes feels impossible.

Gary, I love your videos and as a redneck from Alabama, USA, your accent tops it all off nicely. If you can remember when you first started how did you come to accumulate the inventory of parts, guides, reel seats, etc. I’m building my first rod for a customer this week and just ordered all of the components. Of course, this leaves me with no inventory. Just curious to how you prioritized your growth and determined what blanks and components to keep in inventory. Any advice with a start up rod building adventure would be appreciated.
