DCing is not an issue with bots now; who cares why they do? Can we talk about the toxic behaviour of simulating rape? That's waaaayyyy worse!
@hopey82772 күн бұрын
Tunnelling and slugging has become so much worse! Literally every game I get we have someone downing someone, slugging, and attempting to get the entire team down- letting survivors bleed out. And if you’re not being slugged, you’re being tunnelled out. 85% of my games was just being tunnelled at 4 gens- could definitely be an increase due to the current event but normally, being tunnelled - either me or in general, is still at like 60 percent of my games. I have over thousands of hours and have played since release, I genuinely don’t know what’s up!

It’s the way the game forces you to play. Or at least, that’s what you’re led to believe. I feel it’s the same for killers as well. Running across nothing but meta perks, the best items and addons. It’s just not a fun game to play right now.
@Herman_HedningКүн бұрын
Killer isn't much fun either going against teams after teams, meta perks and map offerings. The game is horrible on both sides. I blame the devs for implementating SBMM, a system based on solely kills and escapes.
@xIronwafflexx3 күн бұрын
The problem here, is there is too much bs in this game that is so incredibly unfun, that there is no reason to play out the match. The removal of self unhook will do nothing. People will still just not play the game in protest. People will just go do totems or throw pallets, or just jump in and out of lockers. Sadly the best option, is just remove the D/C penalty. You're better off with a bot than being down 1.
@crunchycakegaming15072 күн бұрын
But then there will be too much DCing still, and facing bots is NOT fun as killer and having bots as teammates is still boring. If people who give up all the time don’t play in protest then that’s good. less people giving up and the problem will be solved. People are addicted to dbd anyways, they’ll come crawling back eventually and just suck it up

@@crunchycakegaming1507 The only other option is for bhvr to fix the core issues with the game that are causing these problems, but the chances of that happening are about 0%. So it comes down to more bot games than we would like, or the player base just playing to lose and still ruining the game or players just leaving and queue times getting worse. Not playing in protest does nothing. Too many people are fine with the poor state of the game, and will just complain about it but still play, because they love to play dress up simulator. The only actual way that bhvr will ever do anything, is if the experience gets so bad, that they have to do something, because unless over half of their player base quits playing overnight, they will do literally nothing. They have shown us this in the past. People like you with your low standards for what is acceptable or fun (ur probably a killer player) make people want to load in and ruin the game. If people like you keep pushing "suck it up" you're going to end up with games where people just sit on gens until you grab them then when they get unhooked, they will just go sit on a gen again. Yeah i mostly play killer, so what? does that make my opinion invalid? if so why can’t i make your opinion invalid for playing survivor? Having bot teammates is not fun for either side, i hate bot teammates when i play survivor too. When i said people who don’t play dbd in protest will suck it up, i meant that their protest of not playing dbd will be short lived because they’re addicted to dbd and will come back even if it means they can’t give up if they didn’t get a 5 gen chase. Seriously, i’ve had people who looped me for an entire minute and STILL give up on first hook. Also you act like i slug people every match. The only time i slug people is if im getting a snowball going or if they give up. When people sit on a gen to give up, i slug them, as i believe is what all killers should do when survivors try to give up early on. I dont like the idea that you can crawl faster to bleed out, it sounds not fair. If you want to bleed out faster you should be able to press a button like F and then you bleed out faster but you can not move during this. Becuase you should only be able to use it if a killer held you hostage in a game. Also after the bleed out progress is on half (currently 2 min) the surv should be able to execure himselfe to the Entety. For that the animation from the endgame collapse can be played. This prevents killer from 4ppl slugging and not hooking. Also its annoying as surv now then the killer does not hook the last surv to mori them, they now can "counter" it

How far some people are willing to go to punish the player... NGL you do all of that and I see 3 pop pain res blights in a row I am still disconnecting, game puts me on a 100+ ping lobby for no reason (happened a lot recently too) I am not wasting my time "powering through" that bs, there are cheaters in this game which make YOU DC and the game punishes YOU with the penalty, very nice game design if you ask me! You punish players with longer Q's - you punish everyone in this game, there will be no "separate Q" it already can take solid 15 minutes during some events to find a match. People are disconnecting and getting a minute long penalty? It means there are 4 other players which are getting a 15 minute long penalty (length of a lost match), since they also gonna get punished if they dc :) What to do with a first player which disconnects? Punish player with longer penalty? longer q's? No, it will encourage players to stop playing the game all-together. "so what? I am gonna have a high quality lobby then!" After that short 40 minute long queue that is... It's all fun and giggles untill game punishes you specifically, and it hurts even more when it isnt a deserved one too. Losing a player is a thing that snowballs very quickly, I bet Concord had matches of the highest quality for the entirety of 600 players! It could be a bad mood, connection error, annoying meta builds multiple times in a row, killer wasting time, cheaters and a lot more. There is no clear indication who deserves a penalty and who isn't bc you know we dont have any match monitoring tools to prove anything anyway (we have Feng skins though thanks BHVR). This isnt a competetive game, never was and never will be, stop punishing players and please stop solving the sympthoms instead of a problems. Playerbase of this game is tanking, BHVR havent done a single correct decision about this game in the last 3-4 years, and even when they did, it had a great company of gamebreaking bugs and issues which took WAAAAY too long to fix. You punish your playerbase - they leave, others have longer q's - they leave, it is so simple yet so hard to understand - there should not be a penalty for disconnecting from a match

It means there are 4 other players which are getting a 15 minute long penalty (length of a lost match), since they also gonna get punished if they dc :)" If that's correct, then it's a simple solution; Don't DC after someone else DCs lol. Power through. These matches last for 5-15 minutes. If you have a DC, sure, it sucks, but at least you know if that person is consistently doing that, you're not going to run into them much afterwards. You have a higher chance of getting higher quality lobbies. Would it be perfect? No. Would it increase queue times? Yeah, probably. Would it be an overall healthier experience? I think it would be to the point of at least trying it.

Another reason why Behavior might hesitate to ban players more aggressively could be that they prioritize keeping as many people playing as possible - even if it comes at the expense of balance and overall fun for everyone. Their decisions are probably influenced by AI analytics that calculate how many active players are needed to ensure quick and smooth matchmaking.

Something someone feels is "unfun" to them is always going to lead to that person trying to leave that game. The only fix i could see regarding the DC issue is by removing the DC penalty altogether. Removing the ability for survivors to not kill themselves on hook is not gonna solve anything because if they can't kill themselves on hook, they are just gonna intentionally throw the game by running to the killer, intentionally failing skill checks on gens , intentionally sandbagging and intentionally failing healing skill checks, going AFK etc etc. Choy, another prolific DBD content creator made a pretty good video about the "go next" epidemic we are having and why it's happening in the first place.

I've never ever intentionally DC-ed in DBD but I think a 3-day low priority queue or suspension will cause problems as well. If the punishment for DC-ing is too severe, people will start soft-inting (playing to lose while making it look unintentional) which is what happens a lot in games like League of Legends. Imagine someone sabotaging the gens you're fixing, or leaving scratch marks to lead killers to you, or the occasional body block here and there. And they moment they get hooked they just spam unhook till they die. It's actually worse than them DC-ing and being replaced by a bot.

Personally I don't like Slugging or Tunneling. Generally it just ruins the fun of another player and I actively avoid it if I sense that it's just a chill solo que game. But from a gameplay and "competitive" standpoint, there are some games (usually SWFs) that are impossible to get kills in without slugging or tunneling for various reasons. Perks, Gen Speeds, Tile/Pallet RNG, etc. Basically, I'm kinda forced to? Because there are a lot of survivor perks that rely on the Killer hooking them to get value from those perks, and the only way to bypass that is by playing Executioner or slugging. Plus multiple survivors with flashlights/flashbangs intentionally going down in places where I can't pick up because it's a guaranteed save, so I'm forced to slug. If it were me I think the design and balance of the game needs some serious work across the board. There's just so many problems to address and Slugging/Tunneling is only one of them.

If you do that as a killer, you’re going to go up against survivors who DC on first hook, first down, whatever. That way you have an incentive you get back to the normal queue.

I understand why people dislike this sorta stuff don't get me wrong but this idea won't solve anything it'll just open the door to the next best thing AFKing which then what we're gonna ban people its a no brainer you'd be banning a ton of people a day which then leads to longer queues more frustration if you want my honest take this is something that has no solution that doesn't kill the game or severally hurt the player base let people go next.

This is a tough one and not easy to solve, because this problem has layers to it. Instead of focusing on "just stop DCing/giving up on hook" etc focusing on why people DC might be more productive imho, in medicine you attack the root of the problem, never the symptom. Usual tl;dr at the end, but some points will be rehashed from previous comments I made as well as new points I make (ooops, hit 10k limit so will be 2 parter again LMAO. tl;dr will be in 2nd comment) - *Perception of fairness:* as survivor you can get maps like Rotten Fields which offer so little safety, or you get maps like The Game which have so many pallets they can abuse. Until maps are rebalanced to feel like a healthy back and forth between survivor and killer, you just KNOW some maps will be in one side's favour way more than the other's. Same with killer powers, for every killer power that's fun to face (fun being subjective but you get the idea), like say Billy's chainsaw curves, Wesker's dashes, juking Executioner's ranged attack, and survivors even juking my more ambitious Dracula wolf pounces I was trying today (got a nasty one at shack, beat her to pallet via the outside walls with the 2nd attack of pounce), you get obnoxious shit that feels like free hit simulator Trapper on Forest maps (Temple/Mother's), most of the map is thick grass so quite hard to avoid unless they're predictable ones (at pallet/vault spots), Hag is never a fun time imo, Chucky before his nerf felt like free hits at loops with his power unless you had Exhaustion perk or he fucked up, Knight can combo wombo with his stupid guards, Huntress although you can juke her hatchets, the hitbox is so wide some hits feel VERY unfair. Yes DBD is 1v4 and being able to manage that 1v4 is a key skill, however until a lot of the cheap ways of getting free hits are alleviated or removed, it can feel really unfair for survivors who have to eat that free hit instead of being given a chance to avoid it i.e. create a healthy back and forth so each chase feels worth it for both sides. This can make survivors feel powerless, frustrated and not want to play any more. Side note, having pallet drop on the wrong side bug is SUPER irritating on survivor, and I feel bad when I hit a survivor who does that as killer, it feels like I got a freebie I should not have earned...bugs/jank in general should be ironed out, another example is, I've landed many Dead Hards but some games I can leave it until last millisecond, some I have to press it early because of the stupid input delay/netcode latency. This can also add to player frustration and not wanting to play any more if the bugs/jank are left ignored One example of a back and forth I enjoyed in general, DMRs/snipers in Fortnite. Yes it CAN be frustrating when you get shot from across the map with little to no notice, but with the light, the lensflare effect it shows while they're aiming down sights, so you got a chance to evade it, same as Warzone when you see that lensflare effect in the distance you know to move IMMEDIATELY to avoid being one shot by a sniper This unfairness can also extend to items/addons etc, if I run a more fun build (Lethal Pursuer, Grim Embrace, Ultimate Weapon, Human Greed) and survivors are efficient on gens/run toolboxes etc, then it feels like I can do nothing unless I tunnel/get very short chases. And honestly it's quite boring running 4 slowdowns all the time as killer, I'd rather switch it up to avoid the game feeling stale. Conversely if I run a more chill build on survivor and killer brings a nuclear weapon to the trial metaphorically speaking, well we're fucked aren't we? (best case I escape Tombstone Myers/get hatch, but I really didn't enjoy the match, worst case we're all dead and he's bleeding me/us out) A middle ground would be to have some of these slowdowns basekit, like 1/2 duration version of Corrupt Intervention and Deadlock as basekit so if you do run a more funky build as killer, you aren't punished for trying to have fun in a new way, and for survivor, if someone dies early then faster gen speeds to compensate for the -1 would help, but that's more catchup mechanics which I'll detail later Now it's not a guarantee if unfairness was fixed, today I had a game on Badham with Dracula (one of them burned map offering), sure I ran a sweaty slowdown build (Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, Pain Res and Deadlock with brown addons) with the intention of x2 hook everyone and let them go, but I tried my damnest not to tunnel. But because I was checking nearby before pickups, facing the wall, denying flashlight saves and trying not to tunnel, not only for my own enjoyment/sense of empathy but in case they had Off the Record Decisive etc, 3 of them disconnected. I was speechless, but maybe they had bad games before and wanted to "bully the killer" this time round, same way I burn RPD offering to make myself feel better when I have bad games because RPD reminds me of the good times I had playing RE games. :) Either way it's not foolproof, some people will never be happy but doesn't mean we can't try - *Another point with perception of fairness: matchmaking.* I really HATE IT when the game gives me the most braindead survivors who aren't on gens, and killer has so many hooks already playing like his parents will disown him if he loses that match. 😂 It's rough on my teammates, rough on me as I'm expected to hard carry with zero catch up mechanics on my side and unless killer has any empathy, he's the only one having a good time in that match. Conversely I'm sure it's not fun when the game gives me efficient teammates vs a killer who's evidently new/clueless and I feel bad for the guy tbh. We all know BHVR won't fix matchmaking (they just did those tests back then to shut us up, not really address the problem long term) and add more variables so those with best chase times + run strongest addons most times etc face each other, so next best thing as I stated before, reputation system into matchmaking would be great. The vid does state bad sport queue, which essentially lines up with my reputation system's "dishonourable hell" queue for those who grief/throw games constantly, play in a dirty way (e.g. slugging to bleed out or teabagging at gates instead of just leave the trial), or just toxic overall Of course bad sport for DCing would be easier to implement than reputation system, bad sport tracks DCs, whereas dishonourable hell relies on reports which some users will inevitably abuse sadly and there would need to be some vigorous validation to make sure it can't be abused very easily. It would also take the load off BHVR, so instead of dealing with "he camped/tunnelled/gen rushed/looped" reports, that can be a thumbs down for reputation system i.e. "this person is not fun to play with" and reports saved for THE most egregious of offenses i.e. cheating/hacking, telling someone to delete themselves with slurs etc. Those who are fun to play with, get a thumbs up in different categories the survivors/killer can choose and of course to deny SWF abuse, you can only thumbs up your teammate once a week like what Siege does with its rep system. - *Catch up mechanic:* having gens fly as killer while you're struggling to down a survivor who has pallet after pallet or just winning their 50/50s, or being expected to do gens when someone's died at 5 gens is very unreasonable, so I do not fault the remaining survivors for wanting to go next or the killer wanting to DC that match. For killer, they could (with exception of Nurse LMAO) add 1/2 duration version of Corrupt Intervention and Deadlock as basekit, and if gens are still flying with barely any hooks, could give the killer temp haste + Exposed on basic hits until they catch up so to speak? For survivor, if someone dies at 5 gens either reduce the number of gens they need to do by 2, or just speed up the gens so it doesn't feel like a lost cause. Given the comp scene exists, they should be able to disable this in match options along with anti camp as I've never seen them use it in a tournament to best of my knowledge - *Casual vs sweat/ranked mindset:* the fact they are forced to share the same queue is honestly ludicrous! Hell right now, I'm just trying to do the Dominus Tome Challenges for my PC account and my god, some of the survivors are so sweaty because event queue really split the playerbase imho (I really like the event though! But I use normal DBD for the challenges). Sure I'm not new to DBD I have many survivor/killer Adepts under my belt and I'm well aware my main Dracula is a high tier killer, but I prefer to play for hooks as killer instead of feel like I'm playing in a tournament, and do my 1 gen as survivor. Outside events I would not be opposed to a casual queue as well as ranked, sure sweats/toxic people can abuse casual as well as play ranked, but it could help mitigate the clash between casual players, and those trying their hardest to win by any means necessary. Want further proof? Using my Fortnite experience this season (I played since chapter 5 season 2 this year), BR was quite sweaty at first, but since Ballistic mode was added (unranked and ranked), some of the sweats migrated there leaving me free to do the weekly + story quests in peace with the bots/casual players. Sweat should be optional, not mandatory and Fortnite I feel manages this pretty well with the different modes it has to offer. In fact I would not be opposed to a lobby system like Fortnite has to help break the ice, or even a roleplay lobby as some survivors/killers just wanna be cute and mess around, plus it'd give BHVR an excuse to work on more emotes, so more money to invest back into DBD. Win win either way, no?

- *Bridge the gap between survivors and killers:* we gotta attack this Us Vs Them mentality Head On (and yes I had to make that pun 😛) and create a sense of unity between both sides. If survivors or the killer selects BPS (Bloody Party Streamers)/cake offering, it should tell EVERYONE in the lobby that offering has been selected, so it encourages the other players to pick that offering if they have it. This can help bridge the gap between both sides, so survivors know the killer might be playing for bloodpoints and not to super sweat, and killer knows the survivors might be more chill this time round. Speaking of bridge the gap, as I said in previous comments, for survivors show their loadouts to each other in the lobby and in game to help team synergy, show perks like Monstrous Shrine/No Way Out on HUD so solo survivors know something's wrong and a sense of urgency/play time is at hand here. Make no mistake, the video's ideas are great and I wouldn't be opposed to them being added, but until we attack the root cause of the problem, nothing will change in a meaningful direction or timeframe imho. BHVR is like the captain that insists on keeping the ship out in the sea of problems in the search for new content while plugging the holes with bandaid fixes, instead of set a course to dry land, fix the ship top to bottom (like Operation Health for Rainbow Six Siege) before setting a new course to sea with a much healthier, happier community. *tl;dr* people DC for various reasons, sense of unfairness (some maps/killer powers giving free wins instead of fun back and forth, matchmaking is so atrocious), reputation system similar to this vid's bad sport queue could help, catchup mechanics can mitigate reasons to DC, separate casuals from sweats can help, bridge the gap between survivors and killers to reduce/remove Us Vs Them mindset + keep teammates in the loop too!

I like Tat a lot but these are some horrible takes. You're going to take away the self unhook unless everyone's dying state or hooked then give me a 10% chance to unhook? You're just telling killers "Don't hook them until they're on the floor. Or better yet get them on the floor and they'll bleed themselves out faster" lol.

That one could use a little bit of work. But I like the others

theres absolutely nothing wrong with DCing/jumping off hook. I call it the survivors veto. There's a bare minimum level of respect that should be shown to players, and BHVR isnt even close to reaching it. solo survivor escape rate is in the 30s. Every new killer releases OP. Houndmaster wasnt, killer mains freaked out and now she is deathslinger but 115 ms + slowdown ability. I think the roles should be balanced. If that makes me entitled, then I'm entitled. I believe I am entitled to fair matches, BHVR doesnt agree. So the idea that I have some kind of obligation to play out unfun matches just doesnt work.

Also, respectfully, your logic is backwards. Makes no sense to begin with a survivor DCing, then say they ruin the game. You arent even TRYING to consider why a survivor would want to DC, or that the game could already be "ruined" before the survivor DCs. Your errenously assuming there is some kind of objective state whether a game is "ruined" or not, and that the game was "not ruined" before the DC, then "ruined" by it. Each player gets to decide whether the game is "ruined", not you. Obviously, to the player DCing, the game is "ruined"...that's WHY they're DCing!

You're not entitled to ruin other people's experience. You're entitled to a fun, balanced game, one that you paid for. But that's not your teammates' fault, that's BHVR's fault. Don't take it out on other players.

@@TootenTV i am absolutely entitled to press the "attempt unhook" button or press the disconnect button. Would it make you feel any better if I crouched in a corner doing nothing instead?

@@VocalSynthUtauSure, you’re entitled to do that. But hopefully if this system is ever implemented, you’ll be playing with others who feel the same way! 🙂

@@TootenTV Dont know if you noticed, but queue times are getting longer and the player count is declining. They're not going to add a third queue. They couldnt implement anti-face camp changes, they had to settle for stage 1 hook timer being extended. They had an anti-slug system, but couldnt get it right so they scrapped it completely. they were going to normalize survivor sounds, then gave up when they realized it would take more work than they expected. they were going to replace all of the default terror radius music, then gave up half way through. You are completely out of touch and full on wishcasting if you think anyone who doesnt choose to be a willing hostage of this games horrible balance and matchmaking is going to magically disappear from your games.

Well, at the end of the day, people are there for their own fun.. And, if it happens to coincide with others fun than so be it. However, they're always going to be looking out for their Number 1 (themselves). Which some may not like, but they don't owe some stranger anything.

@@TootenTV not true you play online to have fun with friends/randoms if you are not having fun and so does your friend why bother finishing match dc go next hope for the best if they killer is sluging at 5 gen etc and basicly won why bother fighting a losing game if you can go next

Yeah man if I’m not having fun in a video game I’m most likely going to leave. It’s unfortunate but the queue is too wide for me to be put against the most overpowered perks over and over again. Where are the non-sweaty people?

I need some fries for the salt. Stacking banntimes. Bot replacements ... still not enough? I constantly steamroll groups and end matches on 4-5 gens. Yes, sometimes there are individuals who give up right away or kill themselves on hook before noticing that i only hook everyone twice and want to do BP farming with them. But that's just somewhat of a minority. If you have a lot of people DC'ing, maybe it's because you play at very low level ranks where people get easely frustrated.
