Just my thoughts on the photo event that broke the internet last week. Thanks for watching :)

FYI, in this video, when I bring up Meghan Markle and her public experience with race and identity, I’m speaking to my interpretation of what was underneath her frustration with her treatment in the UK when it came to her race and why her admitting what she did upset people the way it did. I may not quote her exactly right, but my intention was to speak to her overall frustration and how her comments divided people. However, I want to make it clear I do not care what she calls herself or how and why being seen and treated a certain way was jolting for her. That was her journey, it was not about me and I moved on years ago. I only included this to give insight into my parasocial relationship with her as a public figure. Also I’ve apparently left off Kate’s title which is the Princess of Wales. Thanks for watching :)

I watched the Doc on Netflix and the spin was very evident that they would use Meagan as a target to get the focus off of William and Kate. Like recently when Harry and Meaghan went to the "One Love" premier as a married couple the focus was on them being terrible family members enjoying their marriage and themselves while Charles and Kate are sick. It will always be something. They need to keep their distance for their sanity. I'm proud of both of them for walking away and I pray their love continues.

I also believe that this whole situation with Kate has exposed the “firm” and the press true partnership relationship and it’s giving British censored media. I am British and had been proud of it for most of my life. I think a real tied has been turning since the exit of the Sussex's as I think majority of the public were quite supportive of them even if the media wasn't. Then the death of Queen Elizabeth II was just a nail on the coffin. Not many people that I know have good things to say about Charles. As for the photo I doubt it was Kate who did this. It's just not something I think she would be silly enough to do. I hope she is alive and well but the hiding away makes me take pause.

I'll never forget when i went to bible summer camp, we had a lot of British and Irish counselors. One of the British counselors testified that she started callimg on Jesus because she was bullied in school for her skin. Her tone was the same as Megan's, but when one of the kids asked if she was some type of mixed, she said she was white. I think the hatred for even just a hint of brown is so strong, even a tan-colored white woman might be in danger. Complexion for protection is right.

This is such an interesting perspective. Because I felt almost the opposite. That Kate (frequently referred to as the most popular royal) can release a doctored image and it has sent official and unofficial news outlets into a whole spiral of speculation and conspiracies. Down to whether or not she's alive or in a coma! Rejecting the image completely and refusing to accept images from the palace . That seems like a pretty intense response to me. That felt even more extreme than Megan's engagement with the press despite being very unpopular with the public. Though the scenarios are completely different and I'm not taking away from what Megan dealt with. The British press is bizarre and I'm fascinated to see how this pans out and if it's all just a bunch of nonsense and she'll emerge at Easter as they said she would.

I think South Park did an excellent analysis of that family, including Harry & Meghan. People edit their pictures, and I think it's unfortunate people are making a big deal about Kate's picture. She shouldn't have released this picture, but if she didn't release a picture for Mother's Day, people would still have something to say. Damn if you do, damn if you don't. It's one of the reasons why I couldn't understand why so many black women were celebrating when Meghan Markle married into that family. She got her semi wake up call, yet she only hangs with black people when it suits her. I would never be on her side 🤷🏿‍♀️ But I wish her and Catherine the best. I'm just an observer to see how all this plays out.

Has it occurred to anyone that she is a very slim woman who had 3 ROUGH pregnancies and MAY have developed diasteses recti with some loose skin? I imagine if she is having her abs stitched back in place and extra skin removed it may be frowned upon by the british public and seen as frivolous or vain. Wherein, if she was ANY OTHER average woman, people would be more compassionate. Again, just my opinion based on personal speculation, no evidence.

To me everyone is entitled to medical privacy. So if she doesn't want to share her medical issues with the world that's her right. I am willing to extend the same grace to Kate as I am Meghan. The British tabloids are extremely sexist and it's probably hell for her to deal with the outside pressure while recovering from an invasive procedure. I think people often forget that Kate was also subjected to the same abuse from the media that Meghan did if not worse because she first got famous in the 2000s which was such a horrible time for women in the media (eg Britney Spears) the difference is she didn't have to also deal with racism that Meghan did.

Girl let me tell you this British Royal Family drama goes soo deep. Ive been following it for yours. The BRF is one of the most dysfunctional public families. Kate did not take nor did she edit that photo. She is somewhere either seriously ill in body or mind. Shes no saint (trust me) but William and the BRF have put her through hell from day 1.

I don't care either way. Its just a s little strange IF Megan doesnt identify as black all while looking in her Mothers face growing up. Add to the fact she was never extremely close to her dads side of the family. It makes me think her mother wasnt secure in her skin and passes that down to her daughter. I think she got a tummy tuck or mommy makeover and they want to make sure she’s fully healed before returning to the public eye. And she gets the full extent of healing and medical care in the hospital. For all we know she may be recovering elsewhere but they tell us the hospital makes it looks *serious* and all that stuff. Apologies, for not being accurate about the wording of her statement but what I stated was how it came off to me regardless of the wording. If she wasn’t treated that way, she probably didn’t see herself that way before that treatment came in. From what I can gather, she saw herself as a mixed race woman (which she is) and therefore how she was treated by the British media/society was jolting for her because it was the first time she was treated as just Black with all the societal restrictions and obstacles that comes with. That was my understanding of the event and that was the reason people were upset with her bc she said the quiet part about race and privilege in the US out loud. Didn’t mean to misrepresent her actual words I was speaking more to her overall experience.

Im a British citizen and icl, i did not care one iota about this until i saw you were covering it😂. I think the black British experience is almost exclusively a feeling of disdain for the royal family if im honest... and unfortunately that extends to Meghan for me. As a human I feel pity for how she was treated by that family and the British media (who were clearly against her for being of african american descent), but as a black woman... I can't bring myself to empathise with someone who doesn't even see herself as "one of us." I think the comments she made about not seeing herself as a black woman so not understanding her treatment rubbed me the wrong way because to say that suggests that someone more unambiguously black would have deserved that treatment. She saw herself as above blackness and therefore undeserving of racism and poor treatment... and then experienced things many black women face daily. Oh well🤷🏾‍♀️.
