We dive into cardiovascular disease risks and menopause, highlighting the metabolic transition that menopause represents and exploring risk factors like preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, and PCOS. We get into the use of oral contraceptives, particularly before the age of 20, early puberty, and premature ovarian failure, while examining the role of the RAS system, synthetic hormones, and the differences between estrone and estradiol.
IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL LEARN ABOUT:
• Why women need to understand basic female physiology

It alarms me how easily Dr. Gersh says, essentially no one will look at or do any studies because it's a womans issue 😢

Great interview. She is so knowledgeable. She barely took a breath. You can see how enthusiastic she is about this subject. Thankful for both of you.

very interesting!!!!! I wish I had a doctor like her! I'm glad I was never on birth control pills, never taken one script. I wonder which estrogen that 'yam' estrogen cream is meant to 'mimic' (of course it doesn't). It's lovely when people actually know what they are talking about. Thank you for this wonderful education session! Just for the record my mother is 90 she's been on hormone replacement since surgical menopause at 36. she's fine. was on Premarin for 30years then switched to patches... but she is very healthy and doesn't smoke or eat processed junk and walks an hour a day for exercise, dose yoga and works hard all day isn't one to sit around watching TV. Always eaten real food and never switched to low fat anything. Just eats as nature provides

Estradiol (like all the other sex hormones) is produced from cholesterol. The olive oil meantioned as a source of 'healthy' monounsaturated fat is considered 'healthy' because it lowers cholesterol. But it doesn't really lower cholesterol, it replaces it with phytosterols: "The cell structure of phytosterols looks and acts like cholesterol, so it competes with cholesterol for absorption by your digestive system. When your body digests plant sterols instead of cholesterol, it removes some of the cholesterol as waste. This results in lower cholesterol levels and improved health." Hmmm 🤔 ... I'll better eat old good butter. 🤤

I haven't listened to this video yet, but I would like comment on your post. I started my cycle at 11, bc pills at 15. I took them for 10 years before being diagnosed with endometriosis. I then went on Danazol and alternated between those and bc pills until I was close to 50 when I went into menopause. I took HRT for few years because that was the recommendation at that time. I am now 69. I had a full cardiac workup at 67. My heart is perfect. Everyone is different. One size does not fit all.

If you help women with the right hormones they can stay healthy. In turn it would not benefit BIG PHARMA. When women get many ailments in aging the more pills they can throw at them ex: BP meds Cholesterol Meds DEPRESSION Meds Sleeping Meds and on and on.
