The greater the demand for good entry boards, the better the engineering and production quality of them. It’s a wonderful thing to see the hobby for sure
@gwu083 жыл бұрын
In addition, I feel like a handful of people don't want to admit that these entries are almost on par with mid-high tier boards, just because they're labelled as "entry-level".
@erikvasauez93613 жыл бұрын
Idunno bout that, they sound decent or good like this one sounded really good especially for what it is, but it’s not to say the price is what it is for a reason, budget boards are great and it’s nice to see them getting waaaaaaaaaay better with better mounting styles (vs just top/tray mount) but they still have a way to go before they’re engineered as nicely as mid tier boards. But at this rate I’m excited to see how far they can make these budget options go. Maybe it’ll push higher end boards to really step it up or their products will become more of a niche item than they already are
@micorogers53443 жыл бұрын
@@gwu08 Ehhh, sound is not the only thing that makes a mid-high tier boards, most of them are premium because of the aesthetics, QA, the anodization finish, thea dded flair (aka internal and external weights that you dont really see), and rarity. At those price points, people are buying them not for the "perceived" performance only but more so on the the artisinal quality of the product. Having good entry level is good for the hobby but I wont go on about and say that these are "on par" with those boards because at the mid-to-high end of this hobby, people are basically collecting and flexing endgames.

seems like a great board the casting style to save on cost seems like it was done super well I just wish it wasn't 60%!!!

I really hope they restock this soon! They told me way back that the plan was to keep this on stock, or replenish quickly... Hope they still plan on that

I was planning to buy the GMMK Pro, can you guys tell me what is the best choice to do right now? Neko or GMMK Pro? I really like how the GMMK Pro looks, but it's so expensive, I like how the Neko looks too, gasket mount, O ring mount, FR4 plate, sounds too good, but one bummer is that it doesn't have RGB which I like. So you guys need to tell me. To be honest I would have bought this instantly if it was a 65%.
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi PrplDama! It would depend on your need! If you need the arrows or f keys, gmmk pro would be your choice. If you can forego that and rgb, I would take the bakeneko for its pure typing sound and feel
@marytyr34943 жыл бұрын
I love the sound, and concept but I hate the quality! Looking to buy that keyboard in the future to know the hands-on feel and I hope it changes my thoughts about it.
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marytyr! I think the case finishing can be improved, but for the price point, probably acceptable. With that said, I think if you get it cerakoted, it'll end up nicer :)

What is that keyboard which appeared at the very beginning of the video?
@sidyutube3 жыл бұрын
nk65 aluminum
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandy! The keyboard in the beginning is the NK65 Entry edition in Beige! It's been heavily modified, on an another video if you 're interested! The keycaps are HK gaming 9009 in dye sub pbt. The silver one with black keycaps is the TOFU65 from KBDfans with the o-ring mod. Hope that helps!
@zacharykuhns60603 жыл бұрын
Do you think this mounting style (gummy o-ring) would work for an NK65 (stage 3)? That would be SO COOL!
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, no, unless you want to skip the top part of the case all together... but that might look pretty ugly

the shipping is really expensive to south east asia :( i want one for gaming paired with maybe u4t sounds like a good combination. Maybe will grab one when they restock again

Dang this thing sounds good, for $130 that’s hard to pass up. Forget a ducky one2 or the crappy novelkeys nk65, this thing sounds great. If it came with a type of weight it would be even sweeter but still. Might get one just to build another little 60%, dont need it by any means but i like it
@Keybored3 жыл бұрын
Hi Erik! Im going to try adding in the butyl liner in here and see how it goes. That stuff is heavier and adds more heft and does a great job of absorbing reverb. But man this thing for $130 sounds so good
@erikvasauez93613 жыл бұрын
@@Keybored Gotta keep us posted on how that turns out, i'm not too keen on adding sorbothane or shelf liners to my keebs, if I don't have foam I like making a custom case mold out of silicone since as I've been able to get decent results from it but yeah no this thing really does sound good for being $130. This easily beats most of the stuff in it's pricing range except maybe the Ikki68 Aurora but even those aren't full alumn boards so this is actually really cool. I own a lot of boards and tend to lean more towards mid to high end boards but it's mainly due to them having intricate or more sophisticated layout/mounting types but this little guy has peaked my interest for sure, plus it's cheap so I look forward to trying it out & maybe adding a wilba weirdflex pcb in it for added flexibility.

Haha funny you mention that! I recently received the akko neons and am featuring it on a video coming out this week! For the price, the quality of these are great! And interestingly enough... They're cherry profile but don't really interfere with gateron yellows in North facing configuration...
@eraserheadSH3 жыл бұрын
@@Keybored yeah I noticed that too. akko keycaps are actually amazing. the only gripes I have with them is the text only mods, other that that the quality is through the roof for the price.

Hey Keybored, I want to build this bakenenko and i had a question about how to dampen the board. I see that you used zip-in-fit in this video, but I also saw that you said polyfill would be better for the o-ring mounting style in your freebird tkl video. So I was wondering whether or not you ended up using zip-in-fit and the polyfill or just the polyfill by itself?
@Keybored2 жыл бұрын
I took the zip n fit out and replaced it with polyfill
