There's another OP protip I don't see you mention often enough: watch a "full match". People talk too much about tactics only to evaluate it by watching few highlights. Highlights rarely show you a build up phase and how your team defends. Same goes for this corner tactic: you will only see it when it works. This creates too much bias. You can simulate how many games you want, count goals from corners but you will still miss a few details which can help you improve. I've tried this corner tactic and it doesn't work for me as intended. There's too few bodies inside a box. My 2nd or 3rd aerial threat where I direct a cross always end up with a double marker. What you're right about is that set pieces are all about freeing up your receiver. If your receiver is static inside a box, i.e. sitting at a near/far post it will be hard for him to loose his marker. That's why Arsenal is crowding the goal only for a receiver to rush inside. Sadly, we can instruct only a single player to mark a keeper in fm24.

Just play as normal, you'll be fine. If you don't want to gamify fm and you want to keep it a somewhat realistic sim, just don't use meta game breaking stuff. It is literally on you if you do or not.

@@bogus1896 Also, you can almost just leave the training to the Assistant manager and get closer to the training video than what everyone builds themselves, so just let the assman do it. Just take over individual training for position and focus.

What I find interesting though is that they prefer to hit him on the far post because their cornertakers (saka and rice) are skilled enough for that delivery and because the defending team cannot watch the ball comming in and arsenals players crashing the box from the far side to block the GK and the defenders

Hey Zealand, I just wanted to say that since starting watching you a few weeks ago I have really started to get back into football. I stopped caring about football about ten years ago (if I'm being honest, probably mostly because of the drug addiction issues I went through lol). Since watching your channels, I've started to feel that excitement about the game that I did before hand. I've even started a new save in FM2020 (I got it for free with Epic games when it came out. I will be getting FM24 in the next week or 2) with Eintracht Frankfurt of all teams and am really enjoying it! Thanks for reigniting my old love of football bud.

Noob manager here. I used this concept for free kicks, throw-ins and corners on my, Zeacock inspired, Hampton & Richmond save and now my aerial specialist centre-backs are having a lot of fun during matches. Feels like a bit of a cheese but I can't unlearn the notion of pulling additional markers away from the target man now.

Been using this tactic and it just works without feeling game breaking. It's less match engine breaking and more maxing out your margins. I've also set up wide and deep free kick routines that use the same principles and they work too.

Personally since I refuse to use plug in tactics and set piece routines after watching videos like that I feel like I'm banned from using another thing in the game. Since 4-2-3-1 turned out to be the best and 'broken' in it's own way I started playing with 5atb system or more basic 4-3-3 or even some aggressive systems with 2 cbs, 2 wingbacks and 2 attacking midfielders with only 1 cdm. Some time ago after watching arsenal match and their set piece routine I tried to recreate it in FM and I'm very happy it works in fm. The point of that corner is to make a crowd on near post so opponents will mark your players and their keeper will be surrounded by your and their players, put 1 best aerial player on far post and next 2 aerial threads attacking ball from the edge so they will join on that far post. Of course the taker is inswinger to the far post. In the whole season my team scored totally 35 goals from corners (23 goals from the guy on the far post, and 12 from guys attacking the ball from the edge). Surely it's not 'broken' but it's still providing a lot of goals and the most important thing is I'm very happy I've created it by myself just by watching a match. So at the end of the day I feel like there isn't a 'best' corner tactic in the game right now, it all depends on some factors and how complicated you want to make the routine, but you can make a lot of things work in this game

Just set up this tactic during my Pentagon Challenge, and one of my Centre Backs has 11 goals in 9 appearances for the Kaiser Chiefs. He actually scored 6 headed goals in one game in the first match of our Champions League. So we shall see where ends up at the end of it all, but damn does this tactic really work when you got a strong, tall and a great heading rating CB.

It's all about pulling players off! More seriously, do you find having players on the edge of the box is a help? The tactic I've shared (and I think was pictured in the vid) had even more players stacked at the opposite post than you were aiming as I found the edge box players weren't attracting any defenders out of the area that the ball was played.

Question: If you're lucky two have a 3rd aerial threat (eg 2 BIG CBs and a Towering striker) would it be better to put your 3rd best player on attacking the front post? The idea being that the opponent's 2 CBs will likely be marking at the back post.
