I live in Scotland, traveld seven hours to try cafe paulo . It really is the best breakfast I have ever had in this country. Hospitality second to none for for people who like breakfast this is the place. And I thank Gary for the recommendation

From your review, we went to Paulos this morning. Wow, that is probably the best breakfast I have had in London and I have had a few in my 63 years. The place is tiny but lovely, staff great especially the owner. Ordered the full breakfast and the club sandwich, my friend polished off the breakfast but was so full I had to bring half of my sandwich home. This place was worth every penny, we will go back.. thank you..

I actually like those buttery poached eggs out of a mould 😂 I tell you what though, having been a breakfast chef it can be a bit of a nightmare getting lots of poached egg orders just because you have to keep changing the water/refreshing the pan and keep them all separated. A few or even several at a time is fine but when you have to cook 20 at once it's nothing short of heroic.

That looks soooooo good and brilliant price too. I'd give it a 10. My first visit to the UK was in 1988 and for breakfast the hotel I was staying at had a serve yourself buffet. Well, to this day I have not had better bacon or Cumberland sausages. You just can't beat a well put together proper English breakfast.

​​​@@leechilds3725I reckon it's because people associate full English breakfast with roadside cafes and greasy spoons, so people think of them as very cheap offerings. The idea of paying £15 for many will be impossible to consider, yet to get really good sausages, bacon, tomatoes, eggs...even tea...costs just as much money in total (if not more) than producing a half decent fillet steak dinner - yet people will be more than happy to pay £20 for that. So I think the thing that makes it difficult to find a really good full English is that in most towns and cities places just can't afford to make a good full English, because they're having to knock one together for £5

Looks very nice. The problem with cafe breakfasts is that the vast majority get their ingredients from the same mass catering companies. The ones that stand out are easily judged by the sausages and the bacon. You can tell instantly. This is a proper breakfast!!! By the way, having wholemeal toast to be healthy after eating that lot is a bit pointless 😁😁😁

I can certainly tell that Cafe Paolo's Full English breakfast is absolutely delectable in every single way. I'm currently on the 11-stone line, as I have been for the past two years for my 5-foot 6.5-inch height. Never has the phrase 'Eat Breakfast like a King' been so apt! Great video Gary. Even better breakfast. Rare to find white pudding on a full English option down south I'd say. Beans served in a pot as they should be so as not to cross contaminate. Do you recall if the cafe served Kippers and Kedgeree? Surely the sign of proper breakfast joint? Also, were you offered sauces? I know the purists will say they dilute the flavours etc but just wondering if HP was available to you?

Hi Gary, a comment from north of the border. I suggest the cafe guys look at Lorne sausage, we call it square slice, Scottish black pudding, a wee bit spicier than English, and potato scones. They can call it British breakfast if they want, but it would add another dimension to a great breakfast. Either way, English breakfasts are good, tea makes it great. 🎉.

@@GaryEats I went, as planned, yesterday to Cafe Paulo and it was nothing short of stunning. Sadly it isn't in an area of London that I am close to very often, but I will be back again at some point. It was truly excellent and is somewhere I would never have been aware of had it not been for your honest reviews. Now going to try some other places you've visited, although you do need to do some reviews in and around the East Midlands to save a lot of travelling for me. Keep up the great work - these honest reviews you do are strangely addictive to watch.

That breakfast looked amazing..whenever I’m in London I’m allways on the lookout for a good breakfast and I’ll definitely be giving this one a go when I’m next there..I’ve had one served in a frying pan before and my brother and myself allways say it was one of the best breakfasts ever..it was at a cafe called dobar on green lane next to Manor House tube station..it would be good to see you try that one and to compare them…another great video Gary and I’m enjoying watching them all..cheers

You should have tried his Mexican Chorizo and Potato hash which has onions and peppers all fried up together with a couple of fried eggs or you can have them cracked over it and it comes in that big frying pan. Then he does really nice waffles as well and I mean they are proper !
