I love the blazing blazer! There is a model kit that is similar, but set up as a tractor pull style decals that said pulled pork. Box art was hot pink with flames and a pig graphic.

For tiny tires, do they do 3.93 jconcepts in a 1.55? I love them on a new bright(claims 1/6 but we all know it's 1/12-1/10 ish) build I did. Or maybe that's even too big. Surely a 1.55 3.75 exists. Or wild peak 4.19 if you want a touch bigger.

The Blazing Blazer is coming along nicely. I got a Bruiser way back in high school and I should have kept more of it. I have just the frame, springs and axles. The gear box was such a mess it got tossed only a week or two after I got it.

Have you tried Autosol or similar on the transparent plastic? You could try on a hidden part works pretty good on removing scratches on these materials, but as mentioned try on an hidden part if possible first. Looks amazing! 👏

Blazing Blazer looks great, looking forward to every segment of progress. Please keep sharing that one. The 1/12 platform makes a cool basis for a scale trail truck. I shortened an old Proline Chevy truck to fit an ECX Barage chassis a few years ago. Looks good, like a Blazer, even left the stock tires on it. Works very well.

Didn,t mean to send yet! Those are all leaf sprung and work as good as my 15 coil shocked crawlers, You'd be surprised how many people over tighten the shackles and complain about articulation! Especially RTR's.

I guess there are enough Blazing Blazers in the collectors hands, which are completely original to every single screw and part (and even some still completely sealed in their package). So why not go one's own way with some fine alterations like you did? I had to start my Toyota Hilux Pickup and Blazing Blazer from a pile of junk. But through the years they got "healed", admittedly with some NOS I found by chance here and there. I also took some "artistic liberties" here and there. And yes those chassis' were rigid as hell ... no flex. Nice to see that some others are also tinkering around with these old cars today.

Have you tried using a torch on low heat to get rid of the scratches on the box? Used to make signed and my go to for cleaning up scratches in plastic was always a light heat.

Unsolicited suggestions...for the metal parts I find a vibratory tumbler with crushed walnut shells and Autosol does an amazing, low effort polishing job on metal parts. Autosol is a miracle in itself! For the plastics, there is Novus plastic polishes. I use them mainly to refurbish pinball machine plastics and playfields. It does a really good job of restoring a factory shine and scratch removal.

I built my Mashigan, FMS 1/6 Jimny, FMS FJ-40, Custom 1/6 MINI Cooper, Custom 1/6 Beetle, Winnebago motorhome and my Best one, Custom 1/6 02 RANGER extracab, 4x4 semi axled crab steering, 2 speed transfer case, 3 speed w/reverse, CDI gas powered,2 cylinder, liquid cooled ENGINE w/FORD POWERSTROKE stainless steel twin stacks and JCONSEPTS 3179, 5.57x 2.95, 2.2, RANGER tires. OH! I just got my 110mm bypass shocks from LX SHOCKS, They are Badd A** !!

My friend sold me an old Bruiser back in the late 80"s, He said suspension SUCKED! He built it, and being a Mech. I figured he wouldn't over-tighten the shackles, I was wrong! I re-arched the leafs and got almost 1/2" travel. Just a thaught, How's tight are your shackles and main leaf mounts? (I built leaf spring suspensions at a truck shop many years ago, He did'nt)

It’s the same as the Toyota 4x4, not the Bruiser though. Bruiser had a C-channel frame.
