what did you have to end up doing with the breather tube on top of gas tank? new to riding and this is my first bike so sorry if it sounds like a dumb question

I took it off for the rest of the time riding after. Then now I just bough an OEM style fuel hose and it runs down into the original frame hole that it was designed to go in. The only reason i had the shorty straw was because i lost the original one on a crash a while back.
