I was sceptical throughout the process but the final result won me over. I LOVE it. The juxtaposition of the delicate bright flowers against that dark almost industrial creation is awesome.

Oh my gosh, I’m obsessed with the caramel colour the clay turned next to that dark blue glaze. And how pretty was it all with the explosion of flowers and greenery at the end?

This is a 17 th century shape and called a tulip vase. The dutch used to make them to display their precious tulips. They are quit in vogue again. I just bought one last week. I love yours! Its a great piece of pottery’.

It looks very steampunky! I love the darkness of the carved lines. It almost looks like it might come to life and start moving or spinning about.and then when you added the flowers it just became even more beautiful!!!

I grew up on the Oregon coast and we went tidepooling all the time. Love the idea and looking forward to seeing it! Still trying to talk my significant other into a second tank, but since I showed him the Flat, I think we’re halfway there. He’d be all about the Tide. He lives for lots of rockwork, so that might just do it!

That really turned out fantastic! So simple, yet complicated. It all works well together.

I absolutely love this piece. At first i thought it was going to be oke big connected piece but i love that its 3 separate pieces. Not only bcuz its easier to make/kiln and glaze but also bcuz you can use them all individually still, even with the open bottom you can use a tray underneath. I love it ❤

I love the colours and patterns and how they vary but are still cohesive. The yellow and dark blue accents are really pretty when combined with the orange tint of the clay. A very worthy finale 🎉
@matthewanderson9482 ай бұрын
Hi, my name is Matthew and I've been watching your video and I would like to make a very valuable suggestion. When working with Kiln fired pottery that has to be fired or cured at temperatures above 1200 degrees Fahrenheit it is essential to use temper of 20 percent of the object being worked on so that cracking doesn't occur through firing. Some tempers that are suggested are sand and some other materials. So, 20% sand needs to be used so that your work doesn't crack in the Kiln. And, don't forget about templates/ flexible templates. Some of the pottery is a little plain. Templates like michelangelo or donatelo to give it more action.

Brilliant! You really reimagined a very old and kinda strange phenomenon. I think these were originally larger tulip vases, from the era when the most expensive, royal gift, was a tulip or a few. The bulbs where very highly priced and had to be shipped on big sailboats. Perhaps in China used for Chrysanthemums, but I'm not sure these weren't a Euopean invention and commission with the East Indian Company. Your version is like a fun sculpture in it's own right! The dark clay made it way cooler than gad it been very pale imo. They should definately let you on the show, why not? ❤
